If tanny really wants another good RB rather than trading the farm for Richardson I'd trade back and take Doug Martin because he will be a very good RB and it would give us an extra 2nd rounder. But my personal preference is to stay at 16 and take the best player available. Don't just draft the best pass rusher on the board because we need a pass rusher. Take the BPA, I wouldn't mind if its Floyd, Decastro or any of the pass rushers. It's basically a guessing game between the pass rushers in the 1st round. Most have different qualities but none of these guys are Von Miller. Cant wait for the draft to start tonight. I think we will end up taking Floyd
Floyd is a big body that can catch almost anything. Likes to play physical and is a great blocker. He fills a huge need on offense. But at the end of the day this team lacks someone to be scared of on defense. Outside of Revis.
I love Martin, one of my favorite prospects in the entire draft, but I wouldnt pick him at 16. I would trade down 10 spots and even then I would have a hard time picking him... If somehow he managed to make it to 47, he would be an absolute steal.
Jones doesnt deserve to be above Reiff, Hightower, Perry, Coples, or Upshaw. Nothing he has done on the football field has proven that... Or off of it. This hype is crazy. Just keep drinking the juice.
RichCimini Also lots of speculation about #Jets taking OLB Courtney Upshaw at 16. Not happening, not at 16. I wouldn't mind Upshaw at 16 at all, but if Dick is right, we won't be drafting him. I would take him over Coples.
Trade down, Draft WR Hill in the 1st and pick-up an additional 3rd, Curry in the 2nd, S/OT or HB with the 2 3rd round picks.
Honestly, I'm a Syracuse alum...if you can't dominate the pathetic Big East, you aren't going to make an immediate impact in the NFL. Not saying Jones won't be a good prospect, but I've always maintained the Jets need draft picks which will make an IMMEDIATE impact. They cannot afford "project" picks.
Especially in the first round. There's NO WAY the Jets should be picking this guy. He'd be a great pick for the Giants.
I like Luke Kuechly out of BC but he's an ILB, I don't know if he can play outside in a 3-4. Someone said he's got Urlacher written all over him and I think that's a great assessment. I like Melvin Ingram or DeCastro Reiff or Coples. Floyd if the value is there. This team needs a pass rusher. Trust me. If we can get pressure our secondary will have so many more interceptions! Im kinda getting use to it at this point, it happens every year, some deserved some not. The only good that can come out of it is if someone drafts him higher than he should go and it helps a player fall to us, maybe in the second, or by some shocker the first.
We need a legit pass rusher. I want Ingram. i've said this for months now.. If we draft Chandler Jones I will be very upset. Please dont do it Jets!!
