God, I hope not. He wasn't even that good of a college player, just a fat @ss that's hard to move.

I would love to hear why you would take Jones over Floyd

Alot of people see us taking Ingram over Hightower and Upshaw. I honestly dont have a clue whos better, but Upshaw is only 6'1 which could be a problem.

Pretty simple actually, lets just remove the prospect names from the equation for a moment. I think both positions are of equal need for us and I am more comfortable that we can find either a band-aid solution or value in later rounds at the WR position than at the DE/OLB pass rush position.

The names are the most important part. While I understand your reasoning, its not like Jones is this elite pass rusher. I could see how'd youd rank guys like Upshaw, Perry, Coples, Ingram, or maybe even Mercilus over Floyd because of their above average pass rush ability but Jones?

Honestly, have you even watched Jones prior to his hype? What makes him so special? Because a couple of guys on TV said he was great? He never showed he could dominate in college, didnt put up great combine numbers, and the more I watch him the more I see 4-3 DE.

Could him become great in the future? Possibly, but I'm not taking the risk at 16 on a prospect that hasnt proved much at all.

If Barron is still there, its him. If not, looks like a OLB or DE.

We need a pass rusher. Thats the key to beating Brady. Basing your defense off your secondary isnt the way to go, Brady will have enough time and will pick apart any secondary. With a pass rush it will be consistent, thats why the Giants have held Brady to 20 or less the last 3 matchups. To bad the same cannot be said for the Jets.

Upshaw or the best passrusher available.

    Agreed on the passrush.
    Ingram
    Jones
    Floyd
are gone then trading back would be best I think.

I'm not going to get into a discussion about who is more capable of identifying which college prospects will become good pros because that is ridiculous. There are question marks about each and everyone of the guys that you mentioned the same way there are question marks about Jones....I dont think there are any question marks about Decastro which is why I have him listed first.

Based on the things that I have seen and read, those are my three that I think can be there when we pick, and the order I would like to see us draft.

The whole opinion thing is fine, I get that.

Ive been following this upcoming draft since last June. Ive watched guys at each position that the Jets could have interested over and over. As of late Ive looked at every game I could of Jones' and he doesn't impress me enough to say he is a 1st rounder. I get it, I'm not a talent scout but I certainly can tell when someone is a great player and another is just over hyped.

I just think its beyond ridiculous how this kid was considered a late second rounder to 3rd round pick but now that he has been mentioned on ESPN and NFL network everyone is calling him this great player without even watching him.

I hope the Jets do NOT trade up. Keep the picks and try to fill the needs the team has.

That being said, take the best pass rusher available.

Spot on Johnny. Those who havent followed this draft religiously are buying into this hype because all they can do is just go off of what is said by the so-called experts on NFL network.

After watching ACTUAL tape on Jones (and objectively before all of this hype), its easy to see that Jones isnt what everyone has hyped him up to be in the last 3 days.

I hate prospects that jump up boards of more than a round practically over night just a few days before the draft.

There are so many more prospects that are much better players that will be available at 16. This talk of Chandler Jones like he is even remotely close to being on the same level as JPP or Aldon Smith is sickening... IMO, worse than the Barron talk- that has more justification than this.

    My picks:

Tier 1 (ecstatic if we get one of these guys)
T-Rich (assuming it would have to be a trade up)
    Ingram (obvious pass rusher)
    Floyd (immediately becomes our #2)
DeCastro (guard isn't a pressing need, but this is such a great value pick if he's still here)
    Barron
Kuechly (similar to Decastro, don't necessarily need an ILB, but if he's still somehow here, the value is too good to pass up)

Tier 2 (Still pumped, but not quite as much)
    Upshaw
    Mercilus
    Perry
    Jones
    Coples
    Hightower
    Reiff

    The 'Eff you Tanny' Column
    Poe
    Branch
    Brockers
    Any other Guard/Tackle
Trade up that doesn't get us T-Rich

Anything else at 16 is a failure in my eyes unless I'm leaving someone out

With the 16th pick New York Jets select Chandlers Jones's agent.

Woody wants to sell tickets and this guy sure knows how to handle media.
