Holmes is the 32nd highest paid player at any position in the NFL..do we really need to say any more? Is it really too much to expect him to act like a team player? It never ceases to amaze how anybody can attempt to defend that asshole.
A) Holmes IS a punk, and very possibly a ticking time bomb. If things don't go his way. B) Can'o'lardo is a plump, untalented and fail-worthy self-promoting jackoff who works for a shameless tabloid rag and inserts himself into the news as if anyone gives a shit who he is or what he thinks. C) The Jets are monumental retards for allowing the most selfish and egotistical piece of trash on their roster and easily the biggest team embarrassment of 2011 to do a conference call in April with the jackals of the NY sports media. Basically, this article is the perfect storm of fuckheadedness.
I'm getting the feeling lately that Woody is sentimental for the days just two short seasons ago when everybody hated the Jets except their fans and they went to two straight AFC championship games. I think he's decided that if he can just get the Jets fans to hate them also they'll go to the Super Bowl. It's kind of like a twisted Al Davis theory.
What did that dopey reporter think Holmes was going to say? "I said 7 Hail Mary's and 4 Our Father's"? Leave the feel good talk for Tebow. The whole NFL nonsense of players available to the media is ridiculous.
Too much overreaction. The media did this because they want people to read their stuff and get attention. I like what Holmes said about it happened it Miami and it stays in Miami, he and the team put that behind them. I hope he has a good year because that will turn into winning games. EDIT: He also held the workout a week or two ago, so he obviously put that behind him.
All I care about is this..did he say it or didn't he? "This exchange tells you all you need to know about Holmes: When he was asked if he has any “regrets’’ about how he handled himself late last season, he spat back, “Why should I?’’ If he did and you don't get what is wrong with that then oh well.
I would be pissed off too if I was stuck with a guy like Sanchez at QB. Considering his elite talent, Holmes deserves much better than what he's stuck with.
Santonio Holmes is NOT an elite talent. He has some real nice clutch in his blood but he's not even close to an elite talent.
