I think everyone was on board, I just believe that Sparano's/Tebow's agent called Tony first when the the Broncos were exploring a deal. Tony jumped all over it.
Its amazing that Tanny has become public enemy number one for Jets fans the moment Schotty was sent packing Actually its not amazing as it is like clockwork, same as alway, 1st the OC, then the GM, then next year Rex takes over the top spot. I hate Jets fans
I'm going to agree with you again Don. Because you're right. And because I can see me some links after ten posts
You're right Don. A lot of this is the perception of this move being more of a business move than a football move. A lot of it is indeed, Tebow hate as well. Personally, I don't care if Tebow bows down to a rabbit and spins on his head after td's. What's pissing me off no end is how this franchise has been turned into a Carnival Sideshow. I don't like it especially after all these decades of following this team thru the dark times. A Owner that is more concerned with the backpages and Merchandise/PSL sales than building a classy franshise to be proud of. A GM that has no f'n clue how to use late round dp's except to trade them away for marginal players as sweetners. A HC that should have remained a DC as he really only knows one side of the ball and on top of that, can't keep his mouth shut to save his life (except mysteriously, now).. That's summs it up for me Don. I'm just about done with this team after 4+ decades. If I want to go to a circus, I'll wait for Barnum & Bailey.
So you think Tanny has been making good moves lately? Dwight Lowery Trade? Fully guaranteeing money last year to this year which leaves us stuck with Bart Scott? I could go on. You support all of those things listed so far? I'm not solely blaming the guy but he is falling apart at the seams man. I would love an explanation on some of these boneheaded moves he has been making since last year. I really don't get it.
He does this a lot. I think it's a strategy and probably related to some kind of fear of speaking in public.
EH no GM is perfect, I hated the Lowery trade at the time and still hate it. The Scott deall is easy to say now after a season where he completely died, at the time though Scott was an integral part of our D, so yes in hindsight it was a mistake. Like I said though, no GM is perfect and overall he has done a pretty good job. Last offseason was by far his worst offseason and this offseason is only two weeks old. And if most people think this Tebow trade was only about the money, then how exactly is Tanny to blame for that?
I hate this move more than anybody on this thread. HOWEVER, the funny thing about it all is that the most valuable thing they gave up was a 4th round pick. Its not like they're MARRIED to the guy. When all the hoopla was going on in Denver, he was their first round pick. That's an important thing to keep in mind in all of this. He's not our first round pick...that's Mark's title.
Tanny really does not come across very well on tv (which became very evident after watching hard knocks) edit: btw can you imagine if they were filming Hard Knocks on the Jets again this year?
I take it that the RingMaster has now hit every radio station in the greater NY/NJ area selling this trade??
Will you pick a new team or stop watching football altogether? Talisyanon is now a Redskins fan and some other poster in the first big Tebow thread has switched to the Cardinals.
I spent my whole fuckin day explaining this to my retard friends on teh phone. Hahahah, this whole thing is so overblown its ridiculous. The circus will die down people. Just like your fuckin Linsanity did. We gave up a fuckin 4th round pick. If this destroys Sanchez, good. That only means he is indeed the cockless cunt that I already believe him to be.
Well I don't know about brilliant, but it is nowhere near as bad as Francesa is making it out to be. Instead of blasting Woody, Mr T and Rex over the Tebow signing, he should be killing Sanchez for his horrific play last season. If Sanchez played better, we would not be talking about Tebow. At least now the Sanchez apologists and Francesa will have someone to blame when he spits the bit again. I'm glad Tebow is here because the less I see Sanchez on the field, the happier I am. Then, for all I care, both players can be gone after this season and we can start over with a new QB. But first, I would like to see what Tebow can do. I'm done with Sanchez.
You ready to live through the 4-12 2013 that gets the Jets the 5 pick so they trade their entire draft to move up to #1 for the only QB in the draft with a 1st round grade? I've just been through so much crap with this team over the years because management is always the gang that can't shoot straight and no matter how good things look for a year or two they're always going to crumble again and start over. The most depressing thing about this episode of "As the Jets Spin" is that for the first time I have to face the strong possibility that Woody Johnson really is clueless about anything other than trying to market the team from year to year. Even more depressing is the fact that he doesn't seem to be all that good at that, just focused on it. So the LA question looms again.
