When the best the beat writers can come up with is Woody saying the Jets "passed" on Manning. I also heard the same thing on Mike and Mike. I think it's pathetic. Isn't there something of substance to write about. If I was inept at my job as them, I'd be out of a job.
None of them actually know anything about football so all they can report is the most up to date info they can get about what's going on with the Jets. When ti cmoes to any deep knowledge, they're no better than what you find on Bleachr Reprot. Manish Mehta ain't writing a column about what free agents/draftable players are going to fit into our different schemes.
What would you like them to talk about, the 3m or so in cap space we can spend, or maybe resigning our 32 y.o olb coming off a major injury Fact that we passed on this Peyton manning shit fest where teams are going nuts to land him, shows that we learned from last years mistakes. And barring a trade, id easily gonna be our biggest move of the offseason. I see no problem with this
Duh that is a quote directly from the owner of the NYJs Woody Johnson not some made up news thingy by the beat writers
Nothing worth busting our nut for on the first day...we need good deals for solid players. I believe in fanny ..I know that Floyd might be going to Miami now and that sucks
Miami passing on fixing their OL, trading their best player for two 3rds, and not having a QB? I can only hope they draft Floyd
You have to admit...it was pretty idiotic thing to say. He makes it seem that Manning wanted to come to th Jets, and the Jets told him to take a hike. Woody should do a Leon Hess, go away and let the people he hired to do their job.
Wait so are you implying that they made it up? Because Woody Johnson did say something along the lines of this.
It's the NY news cycle. In Cleveland there might be a Browns story once very few days and there are just a couple of guys reporting on it. In NY there are 4 or 5 guys reporting on it every day and they have to have something. A logical coherent approach to reporting the Jets is along the lines of what the NY Times does: a few stories a month in the off-season and a game day report during the season followed by results and some additional analysis on Tuesday. As the saying goes: "All the news that's fit to print" The rest of the stuff that is reported is purely tabloid filler of no value at all. It's for Jets junkies who would lick the J off of Jets in the headline just to get a fix.
IF that post made U sad better put me on your exempt list since once the season starts the posts will only make U sadder :jets:
