I think it just has to do with scheduling and that he doesn't actually set any of it up his agent does... so no psych.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7666110/peyton-manning-visit-denver-broncos-friday "The Peyton Manning recruiting adventure begins Friday with a visit to the Denver Broncos, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen. Sources were adamant that the visit does not define the Broncos as the favorite to land the four-time MVP who was released by the Colts this week. No contract negotiations are expected to occur during the visit. The Denver Post was first to report Manning's scheduled visit to the Broncos. Manning is expected to meet with coaches and a handful of players and is not expected to work out for the Broncos, sources said. Manning wants to familiarize himself with Denver's physical facilities, the organization and the geography, and his trip is expected to include other visits, such as to the Arizona Cardinals, sources said."
I think Arizona. They can cut Kolb, sign Peyton & Reggie Wayne. Pair up Fitz/Wayne on the outside, Beanie the Weenie at RB, bring in Dallas Clark possibly?
Sounds like its down to 3: - Broncos (not even on my poll as they were nowhere at the time) - Miami - Cardinals I am sticking with the Cards.
Word has it the Phags are a long shot now. Do they go after Flynn if Manning decides he doesn't want to join the gayest franchise in pro sports?
Philbin knows Flynn as well as anyone in the league so (assuming they miss on Manning) either they will get Flynn or he knows enough about him to have serious doubts.
broncos say they're 95% sure they're going to sign him. they have enough cap space to bring in the entire colts offense with him. man, people here worry about how the jets front office messes with sanchez's head.. denver has been dead set on shitting on tim tebow for a while now.
I hope hope hope this means theyre willing to sign Peyton Wayne and Clark PLEEEEASEEE tell me thats their plan !
Denver, and specifically John Elway, don't believe that Tebow is going to be an NFL QB. It's kind of ironic that Denver has now had a guy who totally looked like an NFL QB in Orton but lacked the fire to lead the team, and a guy who is all heart and fire when it counts but can't make enough throws to qualify in the long-run. I completely understand them jumping at Manning with both feet. They're probably screwed for a number of years if they have to have Tebow developing along the way. Teams will start putting a contain guy on him the way they did on Michael Vick and unlike Vick he just can't make a lot of the throws. Strong arm but makes Mark Sanchez look like Chad Pennington with his touch.
Apparently sources say that Peyton called Denver though today. O.O Not that I would know anything about the Broncos. >.<
I don't see how Arizona can't be the favorite here. New convenient stadium, warm weather, Larry Fitzgerald (and I think enough cap room to bring Wayne n Clark for him), one of the weakest if not, the weakest division in the NFL (aside from the 49ers), etc. Pretty surprised the 49ers aren't making more of a run after Manning. Manning on the 49ers and they might have won the Superbowl last season or at the very least gone to the Superbowl.
49ers have Alex Smith. The Giants got lucky against them imo in that NFCC game. Just my twocents though.
Last time I checked Arizona is actually OVER the cap, by like 19 million too. So not only do they have to get down to even, but they then have to free up room to sign Peyton. And the best way for them to free cap is cutting their LT (think he saves them 16m), so its not exactly a perfect situation.
