If Woody has dinner with Ryan, he'd better order extra portions so Rex doesn't end up eating HIS share. [IMG]

I wonder if this has any sembalance of a regular occurance? If something like this is incredibly unusual for the the it could be the Peyton talk.

Otherwise, I don't think much can be made of it

Maybe this how we convince him to restructure to help us out this year? We say we will spend the money on Braylon?

Or maybe it is an every year thing and the only reason it was reported this year was because the Jets are in "turmoil"

Well his wife is only 30 or 35 or so so I would suspect she is the most likely person he would have breakfast with

No way he will restructure without a contract extension.

He's going into his 4th year on a 5 year contract and without an extension, there is no incentive for him to restructure.

Maybe he didn't get the racist part. You may have to be more descriptive.

BTW, Mark Sanchez is as Mexican as I am Swedish. By which I mean by blood only.

I was following this on nyjetscap and they seem to think restructure is a possibility:

"Sanchez had a very interesting deal in that he carried extremely high cap charges in the meat of his contract and a low cap charge at the end of it. If the Jets were to cut him they would save over $9 million in cap room so the team has all the leverage it needs if they want to force a paycut. Though the potential is there, Sanchez is not going to earn huge money on the open market so I think his side would be willing to move money into 2013, most likely as an offseason roster bonus that will force the Jets to pay him early, extend him, or let him find a new home. It is similar to what the team did with Vernon Gholston the other year. The Jets may look to push Sanchez and maybe the way to do it is with the promise of money rather than a guaranteed paycheck. It could be a situation where they have to pay some of it in the form of a bonus for added job security in 2013. I’ll run with that idea as a worst case scenario and say the Jets fully guarantee his $2.75 million roster bonus to convert it into a signing bonus and push $3 million of his base salary into 2013, probably payable as a roster bonus on the 2nd day of the league year, conditionally guaranteed based on being on the roster in February. Under that scenario his 2013 figure rises from $8 to about $12.4 million with the dead money charge increasing from $2.5 to $3.9 million. Both numbers are reasonable allowing the Jets to go in whatever direction they want.
    Cap Savings: $4.375 million "

How much will he get from another team if he is cut?

OK, lets say the Jets take $3MM from his 2012 salary and push it into a roster bonus for 2013.

Let's also say Sanchez does not have a very good year in 2012. The Jets could then release him in 2013 and avoid paying the roster bonus just like the Colts will do with Manning.

I'm sure his agent has already told him there will be no restructure without a contract extension with guaranteed money.

But as the quoted says, the agent really has no leverage and that money right now could be used instead of a guaranteed contract later. I was showing why I think it can be restructured, but I also see where you are coming from too. It's something that we don't know enough about, but I was just stating it is a possibility.

Really, for a guy as loaded as he is, that is ancient. He needs to upgrade to a 19 year old and steal his qb's gf. That would be great.
