There were tons and tons of people on this board who were dieing to have Schotty fired. He has now taken the pleasure of leaving and we now have a new OC. One who loves to run the ball, something which we have been known to excel at.

Sparano has not even had 1 down yet and everyone is already bashing him, wanting him out. Give the guy a chance. No one knows what could be made out of this, but for all we know, it could be something great. A change the Jets need. I understand the frustration with this organization, I have dealt with it for as long as many of you, but this may just be a blessing in disguise. The guy hated by many, is now gone. The guy hated by the players, is now gone. A new face is in the organization. Let's see what happens before we blindly bash someone.

I'm gonna keep an open mind. Sparano wasn't a good Head Coach, but plenty of bad coaches are good coordinators.

We have had a pretty good view of him sucking for a few years now. He has never been an OC that I am aware of and the Dolphins never had that great of an O-line despite that being the position that got him a job as a HC.

I don't want to write him off right away because being a bad HC does not mean he will be a bad OC but this move isn't making me excited at all.

He coached the Dolphins so the majority of fans will hate him just for that. I think its a great move. Yes he likes to pound the ball but he's not afraid to go long.

Not being excited is one thing, but already asking for the guy's head is another. Rex see's something in this guy, something many of us may not see right now. Give him a shot and see what he does. I highly doubt this could be any worse than dealing with Schotty's play calling.

I have the biggest feeling this is going to be the turn around for our team. This is exactly what we needed. A new face and a new offense. Sparano could damn well be our answer.

Now I hope we draft Trent Richardson in the first round and him and Greene would be phenomenal. Can't wait!

I am not going to go crazy into the inept offense of Miami's, in large part because Miami from 2008 until 2010 had shitty Dan Henning calling the offense. Henning is one of the very few worse OCs than Schottenheimer.

^^^ My thoughts exactly. Not necessarily Richardson, but I have a feeling some big names will follow with Sparano. Our run game will be phenomenal next season, mark my words. This is exactly what we needed.

Exactly. People are shitting on him for coaching a team that had an absolutely terrible front office. Give the guy a team like the Jets and let's see what he does.

When the last SB your team has made it to was in the 60's, people have a tendency to bitch early and often.

Sparano was the OC for Dallas in 06, Romo's first year starting. I'm not excited about the move, but my gut tells me that this is a good move. A solid running game plus a vertical passing attack is more in line with the type of offense Sanchez should excel in. Additionally, guys seem to fall in line behind him and he'll bring some much-needed discipline to the offense.

I'm going to let the guy do some work before writing him off but I'm not happy about the [potential] hire.

I do like that his offenses gave NE a lot of trouble, because Schott's didn't.

What is there to like about Sporano if that's really happening?

He was the Cowboys' OC in 2006, Romo's first year as a starter.

He was the o-line coach, not the offensive coordinator.

Absolutely loves running the ball, something we excel at.

Brings strong discipline to the locker room, something we need.

Likes the vertical passing game, something we need as well, especially with Holmes wanting the ball like he does.

With a hard running game, Sanchez gets to run the Play Action, something he is absolutely awesome at.

This is my concern. I'm not sure what the Jets are loving about him

No previous OC experience (unless it was very short lived).

His most recent teams offense was VERY conservative, almost FG oriented.

OL coach was supposed to be his strength going to Miami from Dallas, and yet it was never a strength during his tenure in Miami.

    No experience developing young QB's.

    Hopefully it works out.
