We need upgrades and need to acquire a quality player of each for the following positions either through the FA or the Draft.

    RT,RB,WR,TE,OLB,ILB,CB,S

    What's wrong with CB?

Uh, they definitetly don't need to the upgrade CB slot. Revis was Revis, Cromartie was Cromartie (which is to say above average but inconsistent), and Kyle Wilson improved a fair amount. CB is fine.

The real trouble spots are (in order of importance) RT, S, and RB.

The team doesn't have to tear it all down, but it's not necessarily in a much better place than, say, the Dolphins (forget their record...they were terrible to start the season with Henne, but seem to have turned a corner into mediocrity with Moore).

They need to do what most teams need to do: build their team from average to great. It's a difficult sequence of steps to take and requires a top-flight GM and coaching staff.

Well Idk. That one could probably go. But I honestly would be a supporter of getting rid of Cromartie, (probably a huge cap hit because of his contract. Making it highly unlikely) signing a decent CB and starting Kyle Wilson opposite of Revis.

    Aside from CB, yes...

Tanny has a lot of work to do. I hope he doesnt fuck up and succumb to the delusional cloud he thinks is a complete roster. I really hope Tanny and Rex see the problems that the team has, because they will never let the media/fans know what they actually think.

Rebuilding is when you get rid of your top pieces for young guns that have future promise.

    We are filling holes.

Receiver might also not be as big of an issue as we all think. I think the Santonio situation will blow over because Santonio will probably realize that he won't get anything close to the money he is getting paid if he continues to misbehave and gets himself released as a result. After that, both Kerley and Turner looked pretty solid (especially Kerley).

Yeah let's get rid of Cromartie. He's practically an elite corner, but he has too many kids and he fumbles on kickoffs so lets just cut him.

disagree with the RB and CB assessment.

McKnight will prove to be a great contributer. I am very excited for him to come into form.

I classify a team being in the rebuilding phase if the framework or infrastructure needs to be torn down.

the jets have a proven formula for success they just need the personnel to execute the formula.

Top ten most likely. LeMichael James from Oregon might be an interesting option if they look to fill RB via the draft.

I also like Mohammed Sanu for WR, but I'm not biased or anything ;)

I don't think we are at rebuilding, but we are in desperate re-tooling mode.

I'd be all for Sanu if the value warrants the pick.

    This

I'm just worried there are too many needs/holes to make a big difference next year.

That list is a bit out there.

RB- Fix the offensive line and the trio of RB's we have will be fine, maybe another mid rounder to force some competition.
ILB- Mauga looks like someone who will continue to take on an expanded role, depth might be needed
    CB- Really?
TE- There is another solid TE on the roster that was poised to have a nice year before he went down. Remember the name Cumberland? new depth is needed to replace Mulligan. Baker might be that guy, he looked solid when he had opportunities.

RT, WR, S and OLB are the main concerns that need major talent brought in. The other positions need a role player or are alright.

A capable replacement for Moore would also be nice even though I think he is a solid starter for another year at least.

Every team in the NFL is constantly rebuilding because of the salary cap. There have at least 5 new playoff teams every year for the past 16 years. For the most part it's the teams that have franchise QB's cover up the process much more than the teams that don't.

    Every team has holes.
