Parcells, WAS a great coach for the Giants period. Everywhere, else he cherry picked spots where he could look like a hero , while overspending out the ass for overprced Vets. Then when it came time to own up to his mistakes and rebuild he would just walk away. This guy parlayed some great teams he got handed him with the Giants into everyone thinking he was a genius. Some of us see him as the real egotistical POS he is.
Parcells? We have enough overrated people in this organization already. What has Parcells done for the Dolphins? Please. Anyway, since this seems to be a "rant of frustration" type thread, i'll add my 2 cents; FIRE REX RYAN NOW!- Being a "players coach" is a curse not a blessing. No players coaches ever win ANYTHING, except the "good guy" award. They command absolutely no respect from their players who know they can get away with ANYTHING. Just refer to" cheeseburger gate" during Hard Knocks or any press conference he's ever done. Rex is a total and utter EMBARRASSMENT to this organization and Woody Johnson should verbally beat the shit out of this fatass blowhard and tell him to SHUT THE FUCK UP WITH THE SUPERBOWL TALK! FIRE SCHOTTY!-No explaination needed HIRE JEFF FISHER!-Bring in coach that knows how to conduct himself and let him hire his own staff and bulid this organization with him at the helm. Keep Tannenbaum- This guy knows his shit and when something needs to be done he gets it done. SANCHEZ- Give this kid at least another 2 yrs under a new system and a better coaching staff that knows how to play to his strengths. Bring in a legitimate back up QB to light a fire under his ass thus letting him know that he must perform on the field or his ass is on the bench. DEFENSE-Realize that this team needs to get faster and needs a top flight safety DESPERATELY! This should fall under the coaching staff. RB-Go after another big time RB like a Ray Rice to add to the mix of Greene McKnight and keep LT at a manageable salary for his leadership if nothing else. WR- I'm confused about what to do about Holmes because I personally would love to cut ties with him but the $ would be prohibitive and we'd have to find another playmaker to replace him. Look into bringing Braylon back due to the fact that he's young, not injury prone and has great chemistry with Sanchez. Biggest thing is I think he can be had for little $ and the upside would be great. Get rid of PLAX. The guy is SLOW and his redzone presence should be relaced with another really good TE. I also really like Patrick Turner. I think this kid,who also has familiarity with Sanchez from his college days, can be a very solid player. GET A PUNTER WHO CAN PUNT-Again, pretty self explainatory. There's more that can be said but i'm getting tired. FLAME ON!
By your own standards, Parcells was a failure as Jets HC and GM. He promised our fan base a championship and did not deliver. In the three years he was coach, he has one more regular season win than Ryan, Ryan made the playoffs twice while Parcells only once, Ryan has four playoff wins to Parcells one, and Ryan made it to two AFC Championships while Parcells made it to one. Parcells left the team unexpectedly and in a shambles. The Jets have not "missed their window." That is an absurd statement. This is a big off season for the franchise. Let's see how they handle it before all the "sky is falling" stuff that permeates this board after a non-playoff season. One more thing. In the three years Ryan has been here, the Jets have not played one meaningless football game.
