I, like everyone else saw what happened in Jets game today. It was depressing somewhat, but worse....watching Jets games have become boring. Jets will put there fans to sleep. No plays being made on either side of ball? Jets actually collapsed down the stretch, lost there last 3 in a row ?
What does that say about Rex ? If Jets fix OL with a new RT & upgrade Slauson at LG & with Brandon Moore a year healthier...OL wil be ok. A big blocking TE also needed to go along with Keller. Add a deep threat WR & break-away RB to pair with Greene.{I don't believe that RB is currently on roster.} Offense will be solid.

Jets can fortify there defense with just 3 key pieces. A passrushing OLB, a ILB to pair with David Harris & as we all know a....Safety. But these 3 pieces have to be upgrades to any player on team currently at these positions. They just can't add anybodies. They have to be able to elevate the other players at there positon on Jets roster. This is how just a few, can have a bigger impact & the entire defense & roster is upgraded.
After further review...Jets need to get bigger & stronger upfront DL....This means bringing in another NT....never can have to many. This way Pouha can move to DE sometimes & Ellis & other NT can pair with Pouha. Pouha has quickness & strength to play DE in 3-4 defense.

I don't think Scott is a problem on our defense. He is a veteran that I feel still had something left in the tank. I bet Scott won't look as bad if we had more speed on the outside. I believe Maybin can be an every down lineman for this team. If I were the jets I would bring in another speed guy and use him along with Maybin for situational duties. I would bring back Thomas for one year. So that way Maybin and our other young OLB have a full year as a reserve before being thrown in the fire for 2013.

We need a new starting caliber right tackle, Slauson is solid for the most part, and Moore needs to be replaced. But I don't trust our front office to actually find good young o linemen in the draft. So I say pick up vets through free agency to fill those needs.

Shonne Greene deserves another year to prove himself as a starter. We need a receiver that can stretch the field, a blocking tight end, and a good safety that can make plays, whether against tight ends, receivers or runningbacks.

A ball hawk so Revis can man up again instead of playing soft.

I don't think Scott is done, but he's definitely lost a step or 2 & is brutal in pass coverage. With a better front 3, he would be more effective. Slauson, I feel Jets can upgrade him & have better OL. Also, he will probally play better next season with a full year under his belt. Moore is there best run blocker...IMO. Maybin....where would u play him full-time ?

Outside linebacker. A full offseason working with our coaching staff could do Maybin some wonders.

everything with the exception of CB's should be addressed, pass rush is also a serious issue here, the D-Line does well in clogging up the running lanes but we never once saw them put consistent pressure on opposing QB's....doesnt matter how good of CB's you have when the QB has 15+ seconds to scan the field, while smoking a cigarette and drinking a coffee coolly in the pocket

OLB is also a major issue, and of course our Safeties suck ass

The defense has the same issues for the last 3 years. They can't generate any pass rush without a schemed blitz. The big difference between the Jets and Giants, is that the Giants defense (when healthy) can get to the QB without bringing extra players. Get a natural pass rush, and this defense goes from good to elite, regardless of who plays safety. We already have better than average corners.

The other problem is ILB. We're old and slow at ILB, and even somewhat at OLB. Harris is a machine. Losing Bryan Thomas really hurt.

Safety needs two checkboxes just so I can check it twice. I'm desperately hoping there's a change in safety for next season.
