Can we go with scenario #3 here? Patrick Turner decides he's better than everyone out there, tells Santonio take a seat without being told to, and scores a TD? Did we just find our new #1 WR??? Probably not.
Did you see Holmes' tweet from 25 minutes ago? "Ready to start making plans for the offseason. Grind mode - coach shaw I'm ready" As many people have already replied to him "looks like you started making those plans during the game"
I have no respect for Holmes. Fuck him. There is a lot of blame to go around, I have no sympathy for someone that gets paid so well to quit on his team and fans. I pray he gets released or traded in the off season.
I wouldn't be upset if he got traded. I wouldn't have imagined myself saying that at the end of last year.
there's no defending how santonio holmes acted today. you don't show your team and teammates up like that in public. if you have a problem with sanchez or whoever you handle that problem in house behind closed doors but you don't show your teammates up like that. dyfunctional teams pull the type of stunt holmes pulled today and as a captain on top of that it's an even bigger embarassment. he's a talented guy but there's a reason pittsburgh was willing to get rid of him for so cheap.
from tweets by Vrentas and Manish: "he quit" one teamate said of holmes "its happened for the past two or three weeks. its happened all season" OC Brian made the call to bench holmes in 4Q LT on holmes "there were some guys in the huddle unhappy w/tones demeanour. its tough to follow a captain who behaves in that manner" Slauson on jets jarring in huddle: "it started off between holmes & another guy, then everyone came at each other, it was bad" Revis on the immediate future of the jets "there are going to be changes. you are going to see some different faces" always nice to see a happy ship
the LT quote is the one i think is most important. he is a veteran and pretty much a model professional. if he is saying that about holmes then clearly the dude has pissed a lot of teammates off.
My 8 year old son who has watch every Jets game since he was 3 (which is when he could understand football) says how Holmes is a quitter for sitting out the last two minutes and must go. He actually turned on his madden game and dropped him from the Jets. He told me that he would rather lose then win with a quitter.
I'm the only person that was glad Holmes blew up. Just like I was glad Mason went off. Tired of players and coaches being all buddy buddy. I like Rex but I'm tired of him defending guys who haven't done the same for themselves. Bottom line is, Sanchez forced 3 stupid passes to RB's today. Why can't you do the same to your #1 receiver? I dont care if he's double covered. You're #1 receiver deserves better than one target all game. If he's "not open" then it's probably the play calling. Santonio Holmes running at half speed can get open more than one fuckin time
Thanks. He's the same one that cried the last two years after we lost the AFCG. He has played the game for two years now and is sooo invested in the Jets its crazy. Thought I was a hard core fan but he's worse then me.
to see people out there defending this piece of human feces is amazing. he needs to go, he is a complete and utter scumbag. there is no use for him. i dont care how much it costs in cap space he should have been left at the airport and told to figure it out himself. that would have been something to complement this organization over. i dont care why he freaked out, i dont care why he came out or whose call it was to take him out for him to sit on the bench while the team still has a chance to win is complete and total bullshit. fuck him. like that yankees fan who used to call wfan all the time used to say "GET HIM OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!!" i cant root for this guy. like the guy earlier said i would rather lose without him than win with him. fuck him.
