Sanchez is a franchise player that still can't make the throws and decisions needed to carry a team. 53 pro starts and his decision-making, ability to diagnose defenses, and make the clutch throw is still rookie material. Today 8 bad throws and plays left on the field today completely on the QB. 3 picks and 5 other missed opportunities with horrible throws cost the team the game-- gave Miami 9 pts and cost the Jets at least 3 (Mia never gained a 1st down on any of the TO's resulting in FGs). He's failed to elevate his game in any meaningful way this season and the missed playoffs falls more on him than any other individual on the team by a wide margin.

It's not all his fault. He's had no time to throw all season, the running game has been ineffective, and his receivers can't get open down the field. But he's made too many stupid mistakes.

No shit. He played like absolute shit today. I'd still like to see him in different system that actually plays to his strengths rater than trying to shoehorn him into a system that he obviously can't run.

several QBs have won Super Bowls with 3 or fewer years of play

Please stop with the young QB excuse

More than 30 sacks for the season, and a game that averaged 5.5 yards for passing.

You can heap all that on Sanchez if you want. Replace our QB and just have another average season under Schottenheimer.

I've been a Sanchez defender, and I still don't want to give up on him...but that game was brutal. Poor throws, poor decision making, shitty body language...and, yes, the body language was significant. The dude looked like anything but a focused, determined leader. I absolutely see big potential in the guy, but it's pretty much undeniable that he came to a career crossroads today. Incremental progress won't be enough next season. To quote the hyperbolic Rich Gannon, "Sanchez HAS to play better."

Sanchez might become a good backup QB.

Sanchez sucks but so does the whole team.

Not quitting on him just yet tho.

No, he won't win us a fucking thing. The defnese and offensive line would have won us 10 games at that point, a legitimate QB would win us 14.

Combine an atrocious O-Line with dumbass receivers, and an idiot OC who can't develop him properly, and you get this.

As much as I think Schotty is the biggest problem and needs to go.
It is also quite apparent that Sanchez needs to go as well.
