He blew out his knee week sixteen... MCL and ACL... They have to wait til the MCL heals somewhat so that they can have surgery for the ACL. He could start out the season on the PUP. Follow the NFL before you make inaccurate statements
I dont understand how the article can start with "Sanchez's terrible season" and someone is supposed to take it seriously. This is the best season of his career so far. That's not saying much but if people really want to waste 18 mil on Peyton, have fun with 3 seasons of losing in the first round of the playoffs because we can't afford other players.
But having a has been elite QB makes us automatically a top SB contender? And we are bound to win a SB in the next 2 years... Didnt you know that?
I can't believe there are 13 pages of discussion on getting Peyton Manning. The Colts won't cut him so he won't be here. END
Actually, youre very wrong on the Packers. Aaron Rodgers is pretty much making that team this year. They have no running game and their defense is awful. If it wasn't for Rodgers, they would most likely be a 500 team at best.
It is not that there are 13 pages of longing for a QB with a broken neck. More like 13 pages of responses to a troll whose persistence is matched only by his ignorance of the actual understanding of the game.
How do you know? Do you work for the Colts front office? I dont think there would be so many articles on ESPN if there wasnt at least a chance. Favre was a long shot to pretty much everyone and you saw how that happened. You just never know in this day and age. Hopefully if he becomes available, we can take a shot at him. He made below average players like Jacob Tamie and Austin Collie look like good receivers so its pretty safe to say Santonio and Keller would have big years. If we can replace Wayne Hunter, Eric Smith, and snag Manning, i love my chances next year. It maybe a pipe dream but you just never know...
They have Matt Flynn who is the best back up QB in the league. They have a great OL (when healthy), best WR core in the league, great receiving TE, and turn over machine defense. They give up a ton of yards due to teams trying to come from behind... The packers are a well built franchise that isnt built on one player and has the depth to sustain practically any injury (look at last year)
Their Oline isnt that great. Look at Rodgers sack numbers. Flynn is unproven so its really even hard to tell if he is the best backup QB in the league. He has never even really had that much playing time yet. Matt Moore has done wonders in Miami since taken over for Henne. Theres definitely a few good comparable backups out there. I still find it hard to believe they would still be super bowl contenders without the best QB in football this year though. Rodgers is the real deal..
Has any starting qb ever been benched for a couple years to be a back-up/learn and then come back successful?
This ^^^ Honestly, if we were talking pre-injury in his early 30s Peyton Manning we would all jump at it. Manning's injury is scary. I don't think his scenario is going to end as well as Montana did with the chiefs. It is fun to think about him coming to the Jets and putting up 4000 yards, but I'm really skeptical of him playing another 2-3 seasons.
Ya but we can dream, if theres a glimpse hope we can get him shoot high and make your best effort. But somehow people rather have Sanchez as their 2012 Qb then one of the best Qb's in Nfl history.
People would rather not trade away 2-3 1st round draft picks plus other commodities for a QB we have not seen play in a year who is coming off a neck injury.
No. People who see big picture would just not rather risk the franchise's success after 2 years and also the other positions that make up a football TEAM. Honestly, I question your ability to comprehend the word team...
