http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/9979/three-named-to-pro-bowl Three members of the Jets' so-called "Core Four" -- CB Darrelle Revis, LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson and C Nick Mangold -- were named to the AFC Pro Bowl team, the league announced Tuesday night. Revis was the only Jets player named as a starter. It's his fourth straight Pro Bowl, his third as a starter. For Mangold, it's his fourth Pro Bowl, Ferguson's third. The most glaring omission is KR Joe McKnight, the league's leader in kickoff-return average. He won the fan voting, but the Steelers' Antonio Brown was selected as the AFC kick returner. McKnight is the first alternate. LB David Harris and G Brandon Moore are second alternates at their respective positions.
McKnight didn't really get snubbed to my mind. He was better than Brown on KR, but Brown was much better at PR. If you only have 1 spot I'd give it to Brown, he was an elite KR and an elite PR. Also McKnight had 3 fumbles on 37 returns. Brown didn't fumble once in 54 returns.
Mangold should be starting but maybe his injury prevented that. Brick doesn't deserve to be there at all. McKnight probably should be there but he didn't have too many returns and did fumble. Also I'd say Harris as much as I like him as a player does not deserve to be there as well.
No TJ Conley? I thought for sure he was going to make it. No one in the NFL punts like him. Where would be without his 15 yard "shanks?"
