Its not a far stretch, Manning to the Jets make sense. We are a power defense and with a elite Qb we are superbowl contenders, Also we don't have to release Sanchez let him sit on the bench and learn from the best it can only benefit him something Jets shoulda have done 3 years ago instead of rushing him. If Colts end up getting Luck and releasing Manning and Jets don't make a serious push for him I will be on this board starting 1000 thread about how Tanny should be fired.
For the love of christ.. I hope Peyton goes back to IND, takes a few snaps, maybe a preseason game, and gets hit and ends his career. Maybe all of you idiots would shut the fuck up.
Yes power defense, virtually top 10 in every category besides pass rush. Everyone loves blaming our defense for our losses this season but if you look at stats they have been better then most teams and only let us down in the last 2 minutes when they were gassed then you look at our offense and if they weren't at the bottom in virtually every category we would have won those games.
If Peyton has any brains, and I am sure he does, I think the Jets would be at the bottom of his list of teams to play for. I am sure a player of his stature would much rather go to an organization which is a bit more professional. Now, if he was a douchebag like Favre, I am sure he would have no problem selling out and signing with the Jets.
Just trade 4 1st rounders for Aaron Rodgers Why take the old man when we can have NorCal beast mode in his prime?
I want Sanchez to have a legit shot at being a franchise QB without Schotty here. We should roll with Sanchez until his contract is up and evaluate him then. Get a good OC who can call the right plays and let Sanchez use his strengths
So you rather take a chance that Sanchez is a late bloomer and may finally one day develop into a decent Qb then have a proven Qb like Peyton Manning for a couple years who is already better then what Sanchez will ever develop into(and thats not looking good at this point)?
Woody might be thinking "Peyton Manning = tons of sold PSL's." Doubt it, but you never know. I wonder how pissed he is after that Giants game? Never underestimate the ability of a ridiculously rich guy to get impatient and overreact.
And once again that goes towards our inept offense, when were constantly going 3 and out every drive and punting the ball putting the other team in great field poisiton the opposing team has more opportunitys to score. Also Sanchez constantly throwing pick 6's and fumbling the ball don't help. To say the least we are one of the hardest team to throw on.
15th in rushing defense, 5th in pass defense, 7th overall. To the extent that these would easily be playoff numbers with a competent offense, I agree. But we're NOT a dominating defense like the Steelers, Ravens, 49ers. With a pass rush we could be. But Manning is not coming to the Jets, nor would I want to give up what would be needed to get him. The point about Sanchez learning from a highly skilled veteran is a valid one but I'm afraid that horse has left the barn.
Your going to bring in Peyton Manning? For how much money. Because the cap cost on Marks contact costs 14 million in 2012.
Too much risk in bringing Peyton in. I would rather fix our other needs (RT, ILB with speed, OLB with speed, safety, WR that can stretch the field) and hope Sanchez takes that next step in year 4.
For all of you saying that they don't want Manning, ask yourself this: Do we have a better chance of winning with Peyton Manning or Mark Sanchez? This is all that matters.
Yes; but contrary to internet rumors, that doesn't mean all NFL uniforms are going to change. Nike might use slightly different fabrics, and of course a Nike logo on the side, but the uniform designs, as always, are the team's decision.
