Yep. Yesterday's game really made me re-think my affection for this squad of players. And the more I mulled it over, it made me realize that Ryan is ultimately responsible for the weakass showing. He's claimed responsibility so I'll let him have it.
Because you stupidly want Ryan gone does not mean that he will be gone. If the Jets fire Rex it would be the dumbest mistake the organization has made in a long time. Our team is just not that talented and it starts with the O line. Other than Mangold our O line played like shit yesterday and has for most of the season.
He'll probably get one more chance like Eric Mangini did. heres a comparison. 2006: NY JETS 10-6 (lost @ Patriots in 1st round) 2007: NY JETS 4-12 2008: NY JETS 9-7 (brett favre era with NYJ, missed playoffs with loss in week 17 to dolphins) So with Rex Ryan ... 2009: NY JETS 9-7 (Loss @ Colts in AFC Championship game) 2010: NY JETS 11-5 (Loss @ Steelers in AFC Championship game) 2011: NY JETS 9-7 or 8-8 (most likely missing the playoffs unless things go their way) 2012: If they miss the playoffs, then he'll definitely be gone.
It's sad that this is even a thread. I hope the guys running the team have some more sense than the posters on here.
this is just beyond fucking stupid; attempting to correlate Mangini's demise to this season. Mangini never had back to back winning seasons or a single AFC Championship game appearance, nevertheless two. I truly feel sad for the brain that would even think this season is comparable to Mangini's tenure, which he got fired for, nevertheless Ryan getting fired on his own merits. the Jets forum really needs a warning when a thread is submitted that tells the starter "this thread is the equivalent of eating your own asshole; would you like to proceed?"
Rex being fired? You have got to kidding, some Xmas joke right? Hes THE MAN. Just needs to shup up sometimes. Shotty better be gone at the end of the season which is next week. If shotty stays the whoever makes that call needs to be fired. Rex and Shotty can not co-exist, thats coaching suicide
the best coach in jet history was weeb. walt michaels was second. tuna is third, rex fourth. both weeb and tuna had to do complete rebuild when they came in. michaels and rex already had some players already in place.
Who said I want Rex gone? He's the best addition to this team in a long long time. I just want him to stop blowing smoke up our ass. He needs to get more involved with the offensive side of the ball or get an OC that knows how to get results. Is that so stupid?
