When is Rex gonna get pissed at the players? When is he gonna stand is front of the press and seperate himself from the players and say how terrible the team played. That's why I like Coughlin, he gets mad dammit. Rex is like a Father that always defends his kids and never blame them for anything. The players played like shit, tell it like it is fat man. He's gotten defensive, he should be pissed as hell
While I agree that I would like to hear that from Rex as well, we don't know what he is saying in the locker room. He has a method to how he talks to the media, and how he expects his players to talk to the media. He could be tearing that team a new one, but unless one of us are in there to hear it, he keeps his rants between him and the team.
He's never going to do it to the press. Ever. That's not his M.O. But I think that's a good thing. Would you want your supervisor criticizing you in public? I'm sure going to be laying into them this week behind closed doors. At least I hope he would.
I don't know about that. DeVito was asked in a post game interview what Rex said, and he apparently focused on how they are still in it, just have to win the next two and see where they are. It didn't sound like he tore anything from what Mike said.
Reporters and players all say Rex rarely gets mad at his players in private either. He's just not that type of coach.
I don't see Coughlin "getting mad" as being more effective than Rex's way of handling things. The Giants are still 7-7 no matter how many times they have had their asses chewed.
So is Tony Dungy who never yelled at anyone publically. For that matter, all Belichick ever does is say we have to play better. Checkmate.
You could see by how red his face was during his post game conference. It looked like he had be yelling and getting very angry a few minutes earlier.
I agree with this take. The Jets had problems with airing dirty laundry in the press early in the season. For Rex to do it now would be a mistake.
Check at best my friend Point is, Coughlin never has to answer to Rex until Rex achieves what he has. Ill take Tom' style because Tom has won a superbowl. Very few "player's coaches" have won superbowls. I just illegally castled out of check
He doesnt get mad at a press conference. He doesnt get mad in the locker room. He doesnt rip into the players. Everything is rosy and just fine in Rex World. "Don't worry,.....we'll get it done.....we'll figure it out --- we're the best team in this league."
Wow, that's pretty cool that you get to be in the locker room and you know what he says privately to the players. Can you get me an autograph? People who act like what Rex says in public is the same as what he says privately to his players behind closed doors are out of their minds.
It might make you feel a little better if he made it public to everyone in press conferences but it's absolutely better if it just happens behind closed doors. But I agree, it has to happen.
If he ripped into his players behind closed doors, you would hear about it. Someone would leak it......current player or even a former player. The example of what DeVito said in a postgame interview pretty much confirms it.
Rex will NEVER rip a player or coach in public. Simply stated The Family's dirty laundry ONLY gets aired out behind closed doors. It goes to the "UNLCE REX" image he carries with the players and coaches - and probably the biggest reason as to why he is so well respected by the players and coaches alike.
If Rex really believes half the shit he spews about this sorry ass bunch of misfits he should ask Santa for a straight jacket for Christmas. You get flammed on this site for being honest, which to most is considered being a "darksider" but truth be told Rex is nothing more then a younger version of his father with a better sense of humor. Remember when Buddy declaired "there's a winner in town" at his Cardinals presser? Well we all know how that turned out? The jury's still out on Rex but if you ask me he needs to be held more accoutable for the actions of his team. Putting a "C" on Holmes' jersey was a stupid move. The guy is fucking classless and a total "me" guy. His team hasn't been prepared in HUGH games against the Pats,Eagles and Steelers(i know we almost won it in the end) Those are just 2 things that stick out most to me but there are others, like his gushing over players that obviously aren't worthy of such high praise and the CONSTANT Super Bowl talk which makes us look like fools since we haven't won anything in over 45 years! I personally don't care for Rex' antics or brash style but I do think he is a decent coach who's still learning but the thing I wish he'd learn is to WAKE UP AN TAKE OFF THE ROSE COLORED GLASSES! Because if he REALLY believes the shit he says this team will never get better because the HC thinks he's coaching the fucking Cowboys of the 90's!
