Guys. I know why you guys are going through manic depression, nervous breakdown and other mental illness that you don't deserve. It's simple, really. Admit the fact that this Jets team is not a play-off quality team. They are inconsistent, slow and unprepared team - the kind of team play-off quality teams are not. Maybe it's the short off-season. Maybe it's the aging vets. Who knows? So... while it would hurt to admit it, once you admit that this team is not good enough a team in the first place, then you'd be able to thank them for giving us a good ride for the season. Hopefully they will bounce back stronger next year. See you all then.
Maybe if I didn't watch Wayne "Highway" Hunter simultaneously steal his game money AND damn near get Sanchez killed, I'd have something to be happy about.
It's not just Hunter. Tight ends are destroying the Jets with regularity. The edge doesn't get set well against the run. The play-calling is maddeningly inconsistent (again.) Supposedly excellent players make critical mistakes. Every punt return and kickoff return is an adventure that makes me hold my breath. This is just not a very good team right now. In a perfect example of the inconsistency, the Jets got Mike Devito, one of their better run defenders back today and promptly got chewed up on the ground. Tannenbaum will get a pass this time around but his manic shuffling of players really hurts the Jets. There are times when I wonder if the Jets are a team at all or just a collection of roto athletes passing through.
after the 3 game losing streak I thought we looked like an 8-8 or 9-7 team and thats what we are so i am not suprised by where the team is, though the manner of tonights loss put me so much in mind of last seasons debacle against the patriots that the parrallel with Leonhard going out just before is just uncanny. the jets are a decent team with a few really good players (harris, mangold, revis), a lot of so-so players and a couple of really terrible ones (hunter, smith). if you have an elite QB you can get away with a very average team around you - like the patriots do - but sadly we have never been that lucky
The team is absolutely overrated, could even say they don't deserve to make the playoffs. But if the Jets got Houston in the wild card round, would it be out of the question for NY to beat them? I think not.
Hunter is a liability to say the least. we need a blocking TE and a safety who can cover a TE. Hopefully Robert Turner can return next year or we can get a reasonable vet in FA. A blocking TE can be had in free agency. Safety is where we would need to spend some money on in FA. But we are a 6 seed right now. Every other game, other than the Cincy, fell our way. This jets team does not like to make it easy on its fans so just roll with it. This is what makes things exciting.
So your just going to bail with 2 winnable games left on the schedule? Thats kinda weak but see you next season.
were not a playoff team and our holes are glaring on defense. id like to make the playoffs but if we don't im cool with it. Sanchez has developed this year and I appreciate that.
Maybe we shouldn't write off the Jets every time they lose a fucking game. Get in the tournament, then who knows wtf happens. It's simple, really.
