Is going to the Linc rooting for the road team actually dangerous?

I seriously doubt you'll get physically assaulted, just accept the fact you'll be taunted. Which, frankly, is to be expected when you go to another teams home stadium.

Unless you're in FedEx stadium/Redskins, then you have to prepare for some J-e-t-s chants :D

I was down there in philly 2 weeks ago for the Pats/Eagles. Awesome experience. Maybe i was an anomaly, but I did not see or experience anything that gives philly fans their rep of being scumbags. I do admit that they are some of the most passionate fans in all of sports, not just football.

In terms of the actual game, I was there sporting Brady jersey an no one gave anything really. A few dirty looks here and there came my way, but nothing bad at all. The philly fans i sat with were really friendly.

I dont know if it would be different for a Jet fan though cause philly and NY have heated rivalries in other sports too, but you shouldnt be too bad.

I agree though with a poster on page 1 who said to not have jets gear on your car if your planing on driving your car to the game

Dont go...best advice I can give.

Went with my buddy and my wifes uncle to an Eagles Cowboys game a few years ago at the Linc. Philly lost...as we were filing out there was a kid...about 14-15, had a cast on his right arm, wearing a Cowboys jersey, walking ahead of us.

Four 20 somethings come out of no where...one throws a beer on him and they proceed to beat the kid to the ground. Once they get him on the ground they purposely started to stomp/kick his already broken arm. The kids girlfriend (i'm assuming) starts to scream and cry in total horror as other Eagles fans walk by and laugh.

Luckly for this kid my wifes uncle is a US Marshal...he had his badge on him and he broke it up. We escorted the kid to security and I swore I would never go back there.

Those people are fucking animals and they take immense pride in it. They know the rest of the country sees them that way and they feel its their job to live up to the standard.

Ive been to several diffferent stadium and people always give opposing fans shit but 95% its good natured.

DO NOT GO TO THAT SHIT HOLE!!

I live in Delaware and a Jets fan. I was offered tickets to the game by three different people and wouldn't take them or even step foot in that shithole. People are a-holes. I agree with HOI that they think it's funny that the whole country sees them as animals and they think it's their duty to live up to it.

Wow, You're down there and still you won't go. I was invited to a house party to watch the game with a bunch of guys in South Jersey, by my Niece's husband who's an Eagles fan. I wouldn't even do that.

    BTW keepin klecko, nice avi!

I think times like this where the team is basically our of it are worse. It was that way for us, the crowds were much smaller but more more dangerous in the years the Jets sucked and were out of it in december.

I remember that when they were here last time. I must have seen 15 Eagles fans escorted out in my section alone.

    Don't go.

My cousins are in South jersey and Philly and they don't go to games anymore cause their fellow fans are such assholes.

Too bad cause Philly is a great city from a nite-life/restaurant experience. If you plan on staying, go hit the waterfront just north of the Betsy Ross Ross bridge. Can't remember the name of the restaurant but there is a whole section of very cool bars and clubs where they have the old ship and submarine docked.

I went to see an Eagle game once but it wasn't a Jets game so I didn't have any problems. I went to Philly to see the WS btw the Yanks and Phils and that was much worse but they had State troopers in every section so we were safe.

I have been to a ton of road games, get in the Stadium early, make friends w/ the people around your section. Root for the Jets but don't be obnoxious and you should be fine.

AND make sure you share your hatred of the Giants, that will make them like you:)

this is so true. when a team is down, season ticket holders sell for whatever they can get, which usually brings out the biggest assholes.

This was ALWAYS the case at the old stadium. people would show up that only went when they could get tickets for under 20 bucks. they get obnoxiously drunk before hand, and just look for trouble.

philly fans do this (minus the 20 dollar ticket part) on a weekly basis during the season. now mix in the fact that they are playing for draft position, and you bring out the finest citizens that the city of brotherly love has to offer.

honestly though, if you just keep to yourself and remember that you are in someone else's house, you shouldnt have a problem.
