I wonder what they're gonna go do with Kendry Morales; he's no slouch at first. And thank god Pujols didn't sign with the Marlins. I would actually give up watching baseball for the next 5 years (or until the Mets became relevant again, whichever comes first).
Pujols will eventually transition to DH, in the meantime Kendry can play DH or they can trade him and get more assets. Its a win-win I think...They are also extremely close with CJ Wilson
One more team the Yankees can't beat in a short series, especially if they sign Wilson as rumored (update - I see he just did) but that's ok, Cashman got his man...Hiroyuki Nakajima.
The Angels agreed to terms with left-handed starter C.J. Wilson on a five-year, $77.5 million contract, his agent Bob Garber told ESPN.
It's a combination of the pressure of the contract, the pressure of New York, and the pressure of being butthurt that everyone loves Jeter and not him.
This makes complete sense, especially since the disarray of the Dodgers gives the Angels just about their best chance to gain prominence in the LA market. The fact that Pujols can transition to DH also is very sensible. Having said that, I'm still surprised that he actually left St. Louis. So much for replacing Stan the Man as the #1 Cardinal icon.
It's alot of money invested on 2 30 year old players. I like the Pujols move though. He will be good in the AL. They also will probably trade Kendry Morales to get more assets
In a league with no salary cap it really doesn't matter. They're gonna sell tickets and be a solid tram. They spent a lot but IMO they were good moves
