Because the Vikes save 1.5MIL if someone claims him. No point in having the guy get paid to sit the bench at this point as he is not gonna be there next year anyway. Who cares who picks him up if you are the Vikes. Plus, it sounds like he asked for his release so the Vikes obliged. Both sides benefit here.
Bears are better off with Hanie (sp?). McNabb has been lazy since he left Philly and isn't putting in the work. He was awful in Washington and showed nothing in Minnesota, I see no reason anyone would think he could "save" their season. With Skins - benched for Grossman, who was previously out of the NFL. With Vikings - benched for a rookie, and had that game where he had 40 yards passing or whatever. Washed up, over the hill, but borderline HOF imo.
Donovan McNabb did go to Syracuse, which makes him cool. However, as that Boston-homer hack-writing “journalist” Bill Simmons once said about McNabb, and I agree, he’s snake-bitten.
Petro, in all honesty, I think you're blowing stuff like this way out of proportion. Can't people have a little fun in here? I mean, you let the whole Spivey thing go on forever, but all of a sudden jokes like these are off limits?
I suppose so, when it comes to running their organisations I just kind of expect sports teams to be as small minded and petty as I am in my support.
I sincerely doubt we're interested, nor do I think the interest would be reciprocated. Despite his troubles, I think McNabb wants a shot at a starting job, and at least one team within that division would give it to him. One underrated aspect in Chicago is the presence of a solid pass catching back in Matt Forte, mimicking what McNabb had in Westbrook. It's a facet of the game that's not very present in Minnesota.
mcnabb as a backup would be fantastic. plus he could actually push sanchez because he would know that if he fucks up he could be benched.
