Nice breakdown of the final series by the Jets O http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-drive...-saves-Jets-season?module=HP11_content_stream
best part about the td was that mark and santonio apparently did their own thing ignoring schotty calling a play to go to reciever short of the marker...
They didn't ignore anything. Sanchez got flushed from the pocket and they ran the scramble drill they are coached to run correctly. I'm sure Moore taught them that though.
I must say, after being maligned for about two weeks, Sanchez did what the great ones do. don't take the word great out of context, but that drive was reminiscing of last season. but of course he still threw a costly INT.
Well the original slant was obviously sniffed out by the D and the middle was clogged. Then Sanchez rolled out (where he is at his best), which was not called, and they made something happen.
That's all correct. They didn't just say "fuck that" and draw something in the dirt. They did what they are supposed to do.
I don't understand how Tebow's drive for the winning field goal didn't get drive of the week. I mean, he ran for something like 15 yards on that drive and executed a beautiful hand off to McGahee for the big run that put the ball in FG position. I don't think he completed a pass on the drive, but he is such a winner. And how he made Novac miss that FG that would have won the game for the Chargers. The Jets, on the other hand, win in spite of Sanchez. Sanchez did nothing on that drive for the winning TD. It was all the running game, the OL, and the defense - just like in the playoffs the past two years. He is just along for the ride.
the td pass to tone are the type of throws that makes me think sanchez will become elite one of these yrs
Dustin said postgame-- That Santonio was supposed to run an in-route, but instead of Santonio finishing his route, he threw his hand up to alert Mark that he wasn't going to do that, given the factors, the defenders covering on him and Tone, and because Sanchez was getting flushed. Dustin said that Santonio broke his route, and started to scramble to the corner of the endzone, and let Mark further direct him after he threw his hand up to let Mark know he was going to break the route, because he and Dustin had a ton of defenders on them in the area they would have been, had Santonio run the in-route as designed, and knew that was about to be a broken play for nothing. Sanchez and Holmes gave diplomatic answers about being taught to keep moving, etc., and didn't call out the play design, but the fact that Dustin point blank said Santonio broke his route, tossed up his hand to tell Mark what he was doing, and then further adjusted to where Mark was going, says it all, to me. And, for the record, I give Schotty no credit for that behavior, exhibited by either of them, as Holmes learned to rely on "scramble keys" and how to read/adjust to defenses in Pittsburgh, as it's a trademark with Ben and his WRs. Or, maybe my Schotty dislike is starting to make me bitter. Lol.
lol @ the last play of the drive.... baldinger is like "the guy who is the intended WR si there, but sanchez doesnt throw it" yeah, because tis an idiotic 2 yard out with 0 chance of RAC... like every other shitty play
I'll say this. Sometimes when the chips are down...he calls the offense the way offense should be for the most part. That's the part that makes it maddening. Because it's never Maddening...lol. But that I formation bullshit for 56 minutes and losing gives way to playmaking late. But...even when they win, (and yesterday Cro spotted buffalo 7) they make it harder than their talent dictates it should be.
Was shit all day but came alive when it mattered most. He seems to do that an awful lot. Hopefully this propels Sancho and he plays real good from here on out.
Thanks O.P. that video breakdown was great... Got its so frustrating when you see greatness from Sanchez and Schotty at times but at other times they look like complete amateurs.
