vinny was the man. chad was pretty cool until his arm fell off jurys still out on sanchez this was fun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgmfTyITaY0 I continue to despise ray lucas
Gotta go with Vinny but I have nothing but respect for Pennington. Sanchez can still win us all over by WINNING.
Didn't he replace Vinny in the achilles game? They lost that game. Seeing Keyshawn break down at the podium during the post game presser is one of my least favorite moments as a Jets fan.
I actually liked Quincy Carter, I will never forget that bomb he throw to Santana Moss in Arizona. Edit: It was actually linked a few posts up, awesome.
Vinny and Mark Pennington Although I hate to say it, I thought Brett was pretty exciting, I got to see my first NFL live and it was Brett beating the Patriots in Foxborough
I've seen Favre play in person 5 times and he lost every time. Once as a Packer, thrice as a Jet and one last time as a Viking.
Vinny captured my attention as a child and I always held hope for the Jets with Chad as a fan. Yet, with all of the ups and downs, missed opportunities and irritatingly bad play from Sanchez at times, he has shown glimpses of greatness. Because he is still very young, has time to mature, has shown he has the capability, and has success in the playoffs this early in his career, there is a lot of hope and excitement that I associate with him. I selected Sanchez off of this alone.
Yep. Lucky me. I was at that game. Just excruciating knowing the season where we had a great chance of making the SB was over before it began.
As I stated above, Keyshawn's post game presser was beyond depressing..."We can't pass, we can't catch, we can't do anything!!..." as he's punching the podium, near tears. Yeah, talk about going from one great emotion to one of complete shit within a couple of hours. And....then we got to watch Rick Mirer for 2 months...yay!!
This is a difficult question. Vinny had the best season Chad had the best career Sanchez has had the best team results I'll go Sanchez 1A, Chad 1B and Vinny 1C
1. Vinny - The '98 team was the best Jets team I have seen in my lifetime, thanks in large part to Vinny. With him the Jets were capable of scoring quickly and from just about anywhere on the field. I am convinced that if he hadn't gotten hurt on opening day in '99 that we would have won a Super Bowl that year. 2. Pennington - Not flashy, but his intelligence, accuracy, and decision making were excellent. Again, due to injuries (and perhaps Doug Brien/Herm Edwards in Pittsburgh) he never quite could get over the hump. 3. Everyone else - The recurring theme here is mediocrity.
I think it's beyond mediocrity--great points about Vinny and Pennington though. I agree 100% on them being 1, 2. Personal jury's still out on Sanchez. Not quite sure what to think anymore. I love the guy but man he can be absolutely painful to watch sometimes. The Favre year had to be the most manic-depressive-like season I've experienced. Beating the unbeaten Titans then the Pats in back to back weeks to go to 8-3 felt amazing. Then the next month+ happened and I wanted to burn anything with Favre's image on it. gah.
Chad for me. Just imagine if he didn't have to two shoulder surgeries...we COULD'VE won a championship w/ him
