Good to know it's not serious. The D-Line isn't very deep as it is, so losing a possible starter at NT would be a big loss. I hear D-Rob has been playing well at the position, but it's not a spot he can handle full-time throughout a game.
According to the Daily News the injury may be worse than you guys think. SI-OW: Second-year NT Sione Pouha, expected to be a contributor in the defensive line rotation, will miss significant time with a knee injury that may require surgery, the Daily News has learned. Pouha, who reported to Jets camp in terrific shape, has been sidelined since Sunday. Mangini, adhering to his policy on injuries, has declined to give a prognosis.
I just saw that ButtleMan, and don't know what to think? Is it possible they are trying to avoid the surgery and let him rest...? I hope not...he's shown a lot so far and we were hoping for big things from the big man.
Do you think a player would tell a fan at camp the details about his injury before the team told the media? BTW, I have seen people walk around on torn ACLs, although I hear it is pretty uncomfortable. Not that I'm lending the torn ACL rumor any credence, but it is very possible.
With the beauty of the ignore button I can't read the meaningless banter one spot above mine....It must be a real gem....
No, especially in this climate he wouldn't announce that he's having surgery next Tuesday, but I think walking around, mixing with fans, and telling them he's fine, when in fact he will be having surgery that puts him out for the year, would be remarkably, and pointlessly, misleading. This injury occurred a week ago; why would he be wandering around camp at all if had a torn ACL? Edit: this was posted in another thread by Angry Teste. If this is true, I was obviously wrong. I also would think that this was handled ridiculously by the team, and now I know better - they will take secrecy to absurd heights, and nothing should be believed. Edit again: I didn't see that this was also posted earlier in this thread.
I certainly wouldn't want a drafted player walking around camp with a damaged ACL, no matter what the media relations policy is. But it is possible. Like I said, I'm not arguing the validity of the rumor, just the possibility.
For one, we are thin at the DT position... Two, he's shown immense progress by dropping 30 lbs in the off season and looked great in the first few days of TC
So a fringe player is a fringe player. Who knows maybe we will get a better fringe player off the waiver wire or players already cut & not signed. He surely will not make much difference in how our team will perform under any circimstances
Got to agree here that why would the NYJs expose themselves to lawsuits for malpractice if he really truly has a torn ACL?
Cool Champ...you can tell the future. Hook a fellow Jet fan up and let me know what the next set of numbers will be for the lottery. I'll split it with you.
I really think you should learn to read better. I said "who knows" which means mabe we would wind up with a better fringe player then Poula
and according to Champ, Tom Brady was a fringe player too... or did you know that he'd be a Superbowl MVP and Hall of Fame QB, Champ? cheers
Once he started playing U could C immediately his talent level was more higher then others at his position
Before you break your arm patting yourself on the back, I would like to see something a little more "official".
