I'd rather have Criss Angel on the team. He could conjure up some hot women, a Ferrari and several touchdowns while he's there

You don't need an elite QB to win the Super Bowl.

Jim McMahon, Doug Williams, Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Mark Rypien, and who could forget the non-elite status of Eli Manning? These guys won Super Bowl's behind great D and a good run game. Not to mention a little luck.

Which leads us to our current issue.......

I have never been a fan of Sanchez. However, when a guy wins 4 road playoff games in two years he has demonstrated he can win in the NFL. I am NOT a Schotty hater. I think that since SANCHEZ has not shown imp[rovement over his play of last year, a change of OC will take place next season. I expect to see TOM MOORE as our OC. If Sanchez still plays as he is doing that we have a problem on our hands.

OK, you picked out 6 names out of the last 26 superbowls.

Let's look at the other 20 super bowl winners during that time frame from the '85 bears: Roethlisberger (2), Rodgers, Brees, Brady(3), Manning, Favre, Elway (2), Aikman (3), Warner, Young (1), Montana (3), Plunkett.

All of these guys were/are elite QBs!

The only outliers of the group are Eli Manning (who is elite now) McMahon, Dilfer, Johnson, Rypien, and Hostetler subbing in for Phil Simms. Dilfer, McMahon, and Johnson all had historically good defenses, Hostetler also had a great defense behind him, and Rypien's redskins were #3 in total offense and #4 in total defense that year.

If anything this shows just how hard it is for teams without elite quarterbacks to win a superbowl; in order for the outliers win it all the team they were on needed to be extremely, even historically good in other areas of the team to win it all. If you even look at the quarterbacks on the other side, who lost the super bowl to these guys mentioned above you get names like: Roethlisberger, Manning, Warner, Brady, Jim Kelly 4 times, etc. So even on the losing side the QBs tend to be elite for the most part.

I try to look at things objectively, and I don't see how it possibly can be said that Sanchez won us those playoff games. We all know that the defense won us those games and it wouldn't have mattered who was under center. I personally think we could have beaten Indianapolis by A LOT more in the playoffs last season, if we had a QB who didn't toss an int at the goalline going into the half, or overthrow wide open receivers all game. Does anyone honestly believe that Sanchez gave us a significant edge in those playoff games as opposed to having say.. Chad Pennington under center? I think we would have won all 4 regardless of who was playing QB.

Right. Sanchez gets all the blame for losses and zero credit for wins. That's easy enough. Good SOJF anal-isis.

Did I ever say he gets all the blame for the losses? No I didn't, the defense was gets most of the blame for last years AFCCG loss and the 2009 AFCCG. But you're kidding yourself if you actually think Sanchez was a strength of our team that caused us to win those 4 playoff games, its ridiculous and everyone knows it.

He made plays that helped win the games. And if he didn't make game winning plays in about 5 games in the last 2 minutes last year, the Jets wouldn't have even made the playoffs. But according to your 'reasoning' rex Grossmann would have gotten us there too.

what makes aikman elite? he threw for 20 tds once. never threw for 3500 yards and has a td/int ratio of 165 tds 141 ints. The most overrated qb of all time yet ill give him credit for a winner. Its comical to see people bash sanchez and call Aikman elite.....

thats the point. Hes an example of a qb who won with a great supporting cast without being elite. Anyone who bashes sanchez and says we cant win with him and then will boast about Aikman and him being elite because he won 3 superbowls should eat crow. So for that matter, you sir should eat crow.....
