Tim Tebow is going to show you the difference a QB can make when trying to sustain drives, trust me you!
It's disgusting. To be fair though, Gronkowski had top fifteen talent, but fell because of serious injury concern. Hernandez is more affective than Keller because the Patriots use him the right way. At times, it feels like Schottenheimer has no idea how to use Dustin Keller. When Schottenheimer is replaced when his contract is up after this season, hopefully our new OC will persuade our front office to bring in a big, all-around tight end to pair with Keller.
Keller is a glorified WR, unlike the other two - who can actually block. Frankly, it baffles me when I see Pats offense, because the two TE thingie they are doing is the stuff I've been doing on Madden for some time. (TEs that can burn, block and catch - i know these don't exist, but I never thought anybody would pull that madden shit on NFL)
Tim Tebow will be lucky to get more than 5 first downs all game. I expect to go there and blow the doors off the Broncos. They aren't the Patriots ... and we're not the Dolphins or the Chiefs.
While I agree that inconsistent teams do win the SB the major difference between those teams mentioned and this year's version of the Jets is QB play. The year the Cardinals came within 3 minutes of winning the Super Bowl Warner threw for 4500 yards, completed 67% of his passes and threw 30 TD passes Last season the Packers still had Aaron Rodgers who despite all the injuries to that team he was consistent. My point is while those teams may have struggled at various points in the season they had consistent QB play. You and me have pretty much been on the same page regarding Sanchez although I think I'm a little more rough on him then you I don't see anything in this guy that leads me to believe he is going to carry this team on his back to the SB like they need him to.
People need to chill with the Sanchez shit Yesterday Freeman went for 1 TD and 3 INT. Stafford went for 1 TD and 4 INT. Cam went for 0 TD and a pick. Sanchez had 300 yards, 2TD, 2INT. One of the picks was a bobbled triple-tipped pass and the other came towards the end of the game being down 2 scores. Everyone would like to see a better offensive game but he's not as bad as everyone is making him out to be.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. If you're not... you mean the guy who went 2/8 last game? Exactly. This shit was NOT on Sanchez.
Freeman, Stafford and Newton were not going up the worst pass defense in the NFL, missing 3 starters, playing 2 undrafted rookies and having a WR playing CB. Those guys would have had a field day last night against that Patriot defense.
With good playcalling, yes. The fact remains was though the QB was getting CONSTANTLY pressured. Yes they're the worst secondary in the league, but did you even watch the game? Sanchez was constantly getting pressured. Our O-line was just atrocious. Thanks again, by the way, Mulligan.
Understandable but the game he had is not grounds for 'omfg release him he sucks draft a new QB'. Every side of the ball had problems yesterday, they're all responsible: coaches, offense, defense, specials, stupid mistakes.. it's all there. Chalk it up to another shitty game against a good opponent. No use pointing fingers at cracks when the foundation is fucked. How do you think Baltimore is feeling after beating teams like Pitt 2x and then dropping stinkers on Seattle and Jax?
About time someone else realized this. I feel like a broken record. Sanchez is under all this fire for 2 main reasons: 1) Rex "predicts" a Superbowl every god damn year 2) It's a NY quarterback Every Giant fan was calling for Eli's head back when it was his third year and he finally got the Giants the one thing that matters most, a ring. People need to get off of Sanchez's dick and take a look at the raw numbers. The kid is on pace/already has improved in every single category this year. Give the kid a fucking break.
Your right to an extent but look at it this way: Holmes falls (pass was not in stride). Should've been 7. Wilson drops a pick 6 the next defensive drive. Should be 7. Sanchez misses wide open Keller that would've probably went for 7. Sanchez with his timeout. Mcknight fumbles and Strickland proceeds to lay on the ball and then give it up somehow. These are just a few things. Point being, that game was totally winnable. We played like complete horseshit. The only time I felt we got truly beat was at the end of the 1st half when the defense caved, but that was avoidable. (See sanchez timeout)
The difference is that no one in 2011 seriously views Freeman or Stafford as being QBs who are capable of putting a team on their back and leading them to a Super Bowl. For some reason many Jets fans think, despite his obvious regression, inconsistency, and rookie-like mental mistakes, that Mark Sanchez can. Just that fact that he is being touted as a SB ready quarterback in one breath, while using Stafford and Freeman as a benchmark in the next breath should speak volumes about how far away Sanchez is from where we need him to be right now.
