I found it laughable during the score predictions thread that everyone had us running it up vs the pats. Its like no one pays attention to this team.

YES - the pats have a terrible secondary

YES - they were missing chung, mccourty, and others

but why in the world ANYONE would think we would be able to exploit that, when we have not, and will not ever attack an opponents secondary is beyond me. Week 1 dallas was missing both starting corners - we didnt not attack them. first pats game, after they just got raped in their secondary the prior week, we REFUSED to attack their secondary.

so why anyone would think we would do it this week is beyond me. The team simply, as a philosiphy, does not attack in the secondary. We would rather go 5 wide empty backfield and throw 3 yard passes. which makes no sense since:

    Sanchez 2011 shotgun - 5 wide = 23.7 qb rating
Sanchez, career shotgun - 5 wide = 39.9 qb rating

    what makes it worse

Sanchez, when targeting holmes or burress = 111.2 qb rating.

whats all this mean? shottenheimer needs to be fired or rex needs to be heavily criticized for not changing the offensive philosiphy. 2nd and 20 down a ton of points, we thorw a 4 yard pass to tomlinson. even if it isnt picked off, how does that play help us?

Good post. We were playing against the worst ranked defense in the entire NFL and after that first stalled drive our offense looked like it was playing rattled.

The Pats secondary sucks. Sanchez just sucks more.

not saying sanchez played well, or is even good.... BUT does it matter if the pats secondary is terrible,if we dont throw into their secondary?

well thats a reach but there appears to be a serious disconnect on the jets offense and its not because of the opposing defenses.

It's easy enough to blame the O, but when the D acts like it's never seen a no huddle O before, there's plenty of blame to go around.

The issue is, with the defense, this is a pattern of poor play.

for the offense, its the same thing every week. even when we win, or score points, we arent playing to our strengths or attacking the defenses weakness.
its a pattern, and its the reason we dont beat good teams.
