Loved watching Moore chew his ass out. And he wasn't ging in the 'ole "It's OK Matthew, just don't do it next time" speech.
1) If you think Mulligan is a better blocker than Hartsock you're mental. You might argue Hartsock got more penalties but he was a much better blocker. 2) On a run first team with an undersized #1 TE (Keller) having a good blocking TE is imporant. Not as important as other positions but still a very good thing to have. Wasn't that the play in which he got injured? Anyways according to an old Manish tweet recovery timetable is 6 months from injury. Injured on Sept 25 so let's say April 1st is teh plan... anything before May would be very good.
I'm not the one who said publicly that Mulligan is a better blocker than Hartsock However, Rex said it and Callahan said it before Rex said it I'll trust their judgement on this comparison over that of noted NFL personnel evaluator, Mambo9 Ciao
What? And you can't trust what Rex says about players. He also said that Gholston was improving and was ready for a break out year.
He's lucky that he didn't get cut on the field for running his mouth after the devastating penalty that he took just after coming in. Schottenheimer looked like he was about to punch him in the face.
Yeah Moore was on his case immediately after it. I like to see that if you take a stupid penalty you are going to get chewed out.
offensive lineman should be given gloves which create a fist, thus impossible to "hold" . making the holding penalty vanish forever and ever. Mulligan i thought would be cut this am. Ben "no holding!" hartsock is still in the nfl.....that guy f*cked up more drives than tiger wood
When did Callahan ever say that!? Rex I can believe considering how highly he speaks of everyone (Gholston included)...
Why bother. If you;re going to be that predictable, and have someone that useless, bring in another Guard, and slide Wide Open Wayne Hunter out one more space. Hell, he can probably catch better than Mulligan too.
But but but... I thought Rex said Mulligan had become a good pass catching TE too . [aimed at sg3, not you] that said I agree, I really miss the old jumbo formations. Put in an extra tackle and let's have 6 OL on the field! Isn't Ducasse supposed to be a road grader? I'm sure he can block better than Mulligan..
I was totally down on Mulligan in the first half, but that was for his mistakes. I don't agree with those who want to go overboard and say he sucks at run blocking. He doesn't.
He run blocks better than he pass protects I'll give you that... but he's a very average run blocker as a TE... also keep in mind the Bills OLBs aren't exactly forces of nature.
Fairly obvious you have never played a single down as an offensive lineman........you "hold" all the time, you just have to be smarter about it....it's called "technique" and Mulligan's leaves a bit to be desired.
This. Don't give me Hartstock, he had a knack for penalties at the most crucial times, I can think of a couple games he impacted just be being a moron. The guy we're missing is Cumberland, unfortunate he got hurt.
Josh Baker threw a tremendous block on two guys on the catch, I believe it was LT, that was bobbled about 4 yds down the field and then busted out toward the sideline for a big gain thanks to Baker. Mulligan seems to make a mistake in every game and I'm just worried it's gonna happen during a critical drive that costs us a game.
I was actually quite impressed with Baker. He did have some really nice blocks and did some good things. Agreed too that Mulligan just seems mistake prone.
A collection of 300lb men hitting the ball along the ground with their fists until it rolled out of bounds? No thanks.
