Despite the appearances in two Champ Games in a row, by Ryan's own standards the jury is out on his overall approach to coaching. I personally do not think he literally must win an SB to be considered successful except insofar as one defines success as winning the SB (his own definition, but not necessarily mine). But there are enough questions to make one wonder if he will succeed or fail, even by a standard short of winning the SB. I do think we all should be in agreement that there has to be some connection between public statements and the team's performance for those statements to be not only credible but also seen as helpful and useful. Even Ryan would agree with that. So the real point here is whether they help or not, perhaps even hurt. It's on the margins, not that anyone including Ryan thinks that an HC's statements alone will make for succcess.
We do not have enough gritty white players on our team. Just black ass Eric Smith. And clearly our team is led by a Mexican Quarterback who is not gritty enough like Terrific Tom or Harvard's finest student Fitzmagic.
I mean in 2 years soley based on performance Rex >Cohwer (if you compare to cohwers 1st 2 years)...Obviously Rex isnt going to keep this streak up. But you cant say "atleast Cohwer won a superbowl in his 15th season, and Rex sucks because he got to back to back AFCCG in his 1st 2. Unfortunately in our market theres no way Rex would last 15 seasons without winning a SB. Its do or die and Rex is all in. I happen to think Galey is a decent coach, I thought he was a good hire, not the flashy hire you guys wanted, but he has done a nice job with your team. Rex happens to be the flashy hire and he has done a GREAT job with our team. So why not man up and give credit where credit is due.
I truly believe that even if the Jets get to the big game and win it, we still won't be respected by the league. The bottom line is - who cares! We need to win it or the team and the fan base, never mind the league.
Rex, Bart and their band of lunatics have a message for you non-believers. Keep the hate coming because it just fuels their fire! Let Skip Clueless Bayless says that the Jills will win easily or let the Idiot Cowherd says the Jills will win, and let all the other haters hate because this is what happens when they do that: Every morning a packet of articles arrives on Rex Ryan’s desk. It contains everything that was written about the Jets that day. Sometimes the packet reaches 50 pages. The coach goes through the articles, looking for criticisms, slights and rips on his team. “I try to read everything and I try to see everything that I can because it drives me [and] it drives our football team,” Ryan said. The Jets relish being hated and doubted, and that is exactly how they feel now after absorbing a month of body blows. “I love when there is a challenge out there to us,” Ryan said. “I think this team responds because they know it’s like, ‘Hey, we believe in each other,’ regardless of whether people say they stopped believing.” AS ALWAYS THE JETS COME BACK FROM THE DEAD. Keep hating haters, keep being non-believers because Rex and Bart have a message for you. What are you going to do when Rex, Bart and our band of lunatics run wild all over you! P.S. Remember living well is the best revenge!
Rex loves it when clowns make idiotic statements and give him fuel for the fire that makes the Jets rise from the ashes. Never count out this team. All non-believers will be exposed for the clowns that they truly are. P.S. Living well is the best revenge.
Uh have you looked at the standings after yesterday games 8-3 Teams Balt Pitt 7-4 Teams Cinncy 6-5 Teams NYJs TN Den (Own T/breaker over us) RR can say anything he wants but the numbers seem to reflect something far more realistic then RR is
I think the Jets have a pretty good chance to make the playoffs, assuming they can come close to winning out. I think TN and Den will fade and while Cincy might be better then the Jets, they play in a much, much harder division.
My philosophy generally is to take the season one game at a time, so I don't want to waste too much time with fantasy scenarios. Having said that, Cincy being ahead in the race would have to be my biggest concern if you forced me to choose one.
