from the Jets website: Sounds like its Chad's job to lose from here on out!

    Night Notes
Chad Pennington and Patrick Ramsey took part in the bulk of drills in tonight’s weather-delayed 5:45 p.m. practice. As Coach Mangini said in this morning’s press conference, red zone and two minute situations were practiced.

Pennington saw action with the first team and was extremely productive. In the red zone offense, Pennington threw touchdown passes to Justin McCareins and Joel Dreessen. McCareins’ catch displayed his incredible athletic ability as he leaped high over Eric Smith and hauled it in before smacking into the goal post padding. Pennington carried his hot touch into the two minute situation that ended with an extraordinary touchdown completion to rookie Brad Smith. Smith was heavily guarded by Andre Dyson and Eric Smith when all three leaped for the 35 yard pass, only to see it fall into the offensive Smith’s hands as he fell to the turf.

Ramsey on the other hand, struggled throughout the night with the second team offense. His team failed to score in both the red zone and two minute drills. Most of his problems stemmed from his aggressive passing style, as many of his throws sailed high over intended receivers. In addition to his inaccuracy, there were countless penalty flags thrown in the two minute drill from delay of game calls to false starts. The second string almost revived itself when Ramsey threw a bomb into the back of the end zone where Wallace Wright made a spectacular diving catch. Unfortunately, the catch was too good to be true, as he was ruled out of bounds.

Wide receivers Laveranues Coles and Dante Ridgeway sat out the majority of tonight’s practice. Ridgeway may have aggravated his leg during a violent Kerry Rhodes tackle during the daily one on one tackling drill. Coles’ legs got tangled up while running a route in the two minute drill, though he walked off the field on his own power... Ben Graham’s punting seems to get better by the day. The majority of his booming punts were unofficially clocked in at plus 5.0 hang time… Rookie tight end Joe Kowalewski was notably impressive today, gaining extra yardage following his two receptions throughout the night.

Hehe, cannon for an arm. What else does he need? Sign him up to start, inaccuracy aside.

What gets me is how there were countless penalty flags for delay of game and false starts. I haven't heard any of the other QBs having that problem in TC.

Chad has clearly established himself as the frontrunner.

It sounds like Ben Graham is going to lead the NFL in punting this year.

Let's hope he doesn't lead in attempts.
