What exactly has he done tonight? Sanchez threw a severely short Fade, and missed a first down slant pass? Schotty, called 2 run plays from the 1. What should he call?

Keep making excuses for this QB.

Sorry, but none of this is on shotty tonight. Sanchez is playing scared. No time for a play to develope,he just unloads the ball immediately.

Sanchez's first and only option is CHECK DOWN! The play-calling is a joke. Something needs to get down ASAP because the JETS won't see the post-season if it takes them to the middle of he second quarter to get a first down every game.

Without an oline that can produce some run opportunities, thats about all we can expect.

Why do the confidence building plays show up at the 2nd quarter?

The Fins have zero pass rush. They are uninspired. So why not use two things:

Plays to Kerley which are quick passes that get YAC. They help build confidence and rhythm for everyone, and then Play action with long developing routes. Sanchez throws a great deep ball.

But no. That's not what is called for 26 minutes. Pain the ass.

But hey, he's mobile right? Good TD by the kid.

They called a quick slant to Kerley earlier in the game, a better throw there would have gotten him a first down.

Sanchez is inconsistent and so is the coordinator. We can only hope that this is the turning point but we'll have to see.

I'll agree that he was shitty on throws to start. But if he's going to be inaccurate, start him off slow with clearing routes to Kerley, some check downs to his backs, then an out route like to Holmes, then a play action bomb.... I've seen it late in the year, and in January.

    Why not all season?

He sucks balls. We need to draft a QB or pick up an elite free agent QB like Orton in the offseason. Sanchez throws the checkdown more than Pennington.

The confidence is building, and the internal clock will go back to normal.

Is it just me or is EVERYONE aware that when Sanchez calls "kill kill" its a HB run up the middle 95% of the time?

i'm sure it has to do with the playcalling, but sanchez doesn't seem as decisive as he has the past couple of years... he's tentative in pulling the trigger and just winging it - it almost seems like he's playing not to make a mistake...

Sanchez is still only twenty-four. He'll continue to get better. I think one thing that would benefit him enormously would be a conventional, six foot five inch, tight end. A big target like that would be a great safety valve for him. I see how much a target like that benefits Eli, and many other QBs.
