Well, OK, good point, but I assume that is more the EXCEPTION than the norm?? Or am I mistaken? I honestly do not know.
Well it has got to be an exception.....it could happen but what I see being more likely...what I would see as more likely would be if a team cut a rookie that we thought had potential or some other young player then we grab him and give him a look....I think thats how the Packers got Samkon Gado...
theres a good chance. The June first cut down is usually like a mini free agency in the NFL as teams cut overpriced vets but less attention is paid to the final cutdowns which do actually bring some quality players in because of high salaries on their former teams usually. Kendall, Steve Martin (yes he started for us!), Josh Evans (not a cut but someone we picked up late) are a few recent jet pick ups that come to mind. From what I've heard it will have less of an impact this year with the large increase in cap space but GM's still dont like to 3-4 million a year players that they know wont be starting on the roster if they can get 2 cheaper guys instead. ESPN usually releases a list of likely cuts that is usually pretty accurate. Might be a little early to do though. With Pope gone and Pouha possibly gone our already thing D line may need at least TWO more candidates that might come from final cut downs. I really hope the Pouha story is overblown cause he really worked his ass off and might have proved to be our NT for the next five years...now he will have to fight to make the roster next year if he is in fact out with ACL for the year...heres hopeing its overblown and a minor injury
