Robertson's knee will not hold up, even as 4-3 DT. If his cartilage is already gone, he'll need a knee replacement when he retires, and they usually don't give them to guys under 55 years. He's f----d, and so are the Jets. The Jets must stop d----g around and go buy some beef for this D-line. As soon as somebody else loses a Tackle, Grady (if he's still available) will be gone.
So basically you want to cut lose the one NT who has seemed to be able to play the position and stay healthy? For what, one year from an old, fat, out of shape player? This thread is fucking ridiculous. First of all we aren't winning the Super Bowl this year so why the heck would we spend money on a one year fix? Second, don't you think there is a reason that no one has signed him yet? Third from all accounts Robertson has played the Nose very well in camp thus far and has had absolutely no problems with his knee. If he does in fact have serious pains or whatever (I know he has a degenerative condition) he sure as hell is hiding it well, I mean how many games has he missed in his career? Go mope somewhere else GSour.
I don't think its moping. I think its a legit point. We need more than 1 guy to play the position. Grady Jackson would be a great addition. Who said anything about getting rid of D Rob? Chill out dude.
Bah. I have the same condition in both knees, and I don't let it stop me from doing anything. He'll be fine.
Yes we need more than 1 guy to play the position but until I hear anything official I'm cool with Pouha and Tui and in a pinch Titus. What would be the purpose of committing money to that fat slob who no one wants jsut so he can retire in 1 - 2 years without having much of an impact. And while GSour never said get rid of D-Rob, he said "his knee will not hold up" and "he is fucked" thusimplying he thinks we need someone to replace him. I really wanted a NT in the draft, so I'm not against getting bodies in there, but Grady Jackson is not the answer and from all accounts Robertson has played way better than expected in TC thus far.
Speaking of Pouha, I haven't heard anything from the Jets staff, but I know he went down in practice and 2 guys carried him off on Sunday. Anyone know if he's ok?
First of all it's not a frickin disease, maybe if you weren't 14 years old you would know the difference. He can play fine in his condition as demonstrated by the fact that he has missed barely any time in the last 3 years and the only thing that will stop him from playing (in regards to his knee) is a lack of tolerance for pain something which he has demonstrated his ability to withstand, again, judging by the lack of time missed due to it. I know what's up with his knee, I know people with the condition I don't need you to claim you are an expert when you obviously have no idea what is going either in the medical field or the football field.
He got it from the TC report from ThunderbirdJet today, but I'm with you, until I see it in print I refuse to accept it!
Regardless of what you feel about Robertson, there's a very good reason that Grady Jackson is still currently unemployed and I'll just leave it at that.
