Sportscenter has a piece on chad and who they think will be the difference makers...coming up soon....keep ya updated:up:
These guys are so inconsistent. Salisbury says that Curis will get 1000 yards this season, and in the next statement he says that the Jets will be a bottom 3 team. I just can't see us being a bottom 3 team if Curtis rushes for that many yards.
Basically they were talking to chad about how mangini said that the QB battle is wide open and Chad said he can see the adversary one of 2 ways, as a negative or as motivation...he says its a blessing that mangini is giving him a chance to be a starting QB as oppossed to not having a chance...basically hes still got plenty of fire in his eyes.. at the NFL live crew Sean Salibury of course ( douchebag that he is) said pennington will not last the 16 games...they spilt saying Martin would never run for over 1000 yards again and they all came to a consensus that The Jets would be int eh top 5 in next years draft again... I say screw Sailsbury...i hate that F**ker!
dislike would be an understatement...he must be a fins or a patsies fan can i get a :Salisbury Blows: Smiley Sign?
So basically Salisbury didn't mention his leadership and intangibles. Instead he brought up the injury history? What a dick.... Thanks
Salisbury is not worth getting worked up over. He gets giddy when he makes his predicitons on projected bad teams because he's thinking, "There's no way I could be wrong about this."
I just can't see how Salisbury can say Martin would get over 1,000 yrds but we'll be picking in the top 3. Makes no sense! If Martin gets over 1,000 yrds the Jets will win atleast 8 games and that will not equal a top 3 pick. I can't believe that ESPN pays this douchebag to an idiot!
Not to pick on you, this is more directed at everyone who said the same thing as you, but first off, I think it was 1000 yard season ever again as in maybe this year, maybe next year maybe the year after that. And the top 5 pick was after this season, so there is a possibility that we pick top 3 and Martin rushes for 1000 yards next year. Second, 1000 yards does not guarantee success like Tony said. To think that because Martin rushes for 1000 yards we will definately get 8 wins *cough* Hot Rod *cough* is ludicrous! I hope Martin rushes for 1000 yards the next 3 seasons, but unless our defense can control a lead and the offense can put points up, we are going to see a lot of passing. Also, the cards are stacked against him with his injury and age. I think top 3 is crazy, I think top 5 is a stretch also. Here's who I think have as good or better a chance to be in the top 5: Buffalo, Cleveland, Oakland, Houston, Tennessee, Minnesota, Green Bay, 49ers, New Orleans. With us that makes 10 teams so we have to have some really unlucky breaks to drop to the bottom of that bunch. Also, anyone hear the lead anchor "quote" Mangini completely out of context? He pulled the "there is no light at the end of the tunnel" card but failed to complete it by noting how Mangini was referencing that the team needs to focus on completing every drill and practice with max. effort/skill/etc. and not look towards the future. I just thought that was totally bogus because he was so condescending when he said it.
I was saying that because as we all know he'll be very limited on his carries during the year and will not be getting 20 to 25 carries a game. So if he gets over 1,000 yards on say 15-20 carries a game then to me that means our O is being productive and hopefully scoring. Also Rambo13 you mention 9 teams that you think are worse then us and we play 7 of them and Buffalo a second time. So IMO an 8+ win season is not that far fetch, if the O can produce.
Guys, I hate that smuck Salisbury as much as anyone, but there is a very real chance that the Jets could end up with another top 5 pick. - 2 rookies starting on the OL. - No QB. - First time HC, OC, DC, all installing new systems. - Weak WR corp. - Questionable RB corp (although I never, ever bet against Martin) The team will go through growing pains, leaving the first half of the season in serious doubt. They should improve in the second half as the OL gels and the defense figures out its assignments, but even then, wins may be few and far between. Of course, it's possible that they rip off 10 wins this year and make the WC, but I cannot see that happening. No, the truth is that the Jets shoudl be in excellent position to grab Peterson next year.
