No man love. I don't care who may or may not have been beating down his door this off-season. The only team I care about is mine.

Braylon was a difference maker for this team in 2010. You may not like to to admit that for whatever reason. He possessed elite size/speed combination. He routinely got open deep and made big, game changing plays in the passing and running games alike. He caught everything. He was developing chemistry with Sanchez. Most importantly, Braylon loved being here and laid it all on the line for this team.

Burress is old. He's a stopgap. He does not stretch the field. He's a malcontent. He has zero chemistry with Sanchez.

    Wrong.

The deep ball has been one of his best assets since he came out in the draft.

Which is why I am baffled by 2 attempts "down field" the whole season... I dont care if we are supposed to be ground and pound, no one can be a playoff team without occasionally going down field.

well that's what ground and pound enables a team to do - go down field.

But since the Jets got away from who the fuck they are, they have done neither establish a run game, or attempt long passes.

The preseason decision to get away from their identity has made me sick. Fuck the whole CS for doing that. It couldn't have been Rex's decision. That was a Schotty, and maybe Tanny decision.

I really am pissed that they decided to do that.

That would be like the Pats saying "We're going to run it 35 times with the best QB in the AFC" It would make no sense and would be getting away from who they are.

Sanchez has a stronger arm than Rivers imo.

WTF!?!?!? Do you NOT remember his rookie year? he had a few great BOMB passes. He HAS the arm, that is not in question.

What IS in question(in MY mind) is why the hell he didn't try to air it out against the worst secondary in the history of the game.

Why Ground and pound against a crappy pass defense, it just does not make sense.

Its almost like Rex is just trying to go back to what he likes versus adapting to his opponents.

Guess what REX?!?!? If everyone thinks you are ground and pound, they will stuff the box and you will 3 and out 75% of the time.

If everyone thinks you are an air show and never run it, they will fill the backfield with DBS.

Its called balance and not being predictable, if you can't find a way to do thatm you will have 3 and outs the majority of the time and LOSE games...

Just wondering, is this the OC's fault too? Do we think no downfield passes are being called after taking so many shots the last 2 years?

I see 3 reasons for this(and one may be the OC and HC).

    1. The OL, he barely has time to throw 5 yds downfield
    2. he lost his best deep threat
    3. we heard all offseason how he needs to get his comp % up so he is taking safter passes to do that(outside of the Baltimore game it is way up). Mark was good to very good last year but b/c fantasy football dictates perception nowadays people thought he wasn't good b/c of the #s and the offseason focus was on getting the comp % up which has severely hurt him so far.

His rookie year he was 3 of 13 for 164/1td/1 int on pass thrown 41 yards or more, and 3/9 for 98/2tds/1 int on passes thrown 31-40 yards and 4 of 17 for 104/1 td/5 ints on passes thrown 21-30 yards.

(He was worse in 2010- he was 1 of 13 on passes longer than 40 yards in 2010, 4-16 between 31 and 40, and 9 of 30 between 21 and 30.)

Yeah I remember his rookie year-do you?

It is 100% the HC, and OC.

I heard Mr.T on Mike'Dupp NBC Sports Final a few weeks ago.(Francesa isnt on it now, so it should be named Beck'Dupp)

He said the NY Jets offense is not a ground&pound offense, nor a Air it out offense. It is a 'game planning offense' Which obviously whatever defense you are against should play a role in what type of plays/packages the OC calls.

Rex is addicted to stats and calm down. Win or lose all he does is bring up stats that nobody really gives a shit about, and you have to wonder, if it's influencing what he wants the Offense to do...

The talent is screwing up what can be called, but this is getting ridiculous.

Rex needs to take control of this mess. I cant stand the 'Grind it out, dont fuck up offense, my D will keep it 1 score all game' type of games(which is every game)

Throwing a name out there..Dwayne Bowe would be pretty sick for this team. He is a Free Agent next year, Chiefs are atrocious..hopefully he wants to leave.

Other names of course, or find a tall deep threat in the draft.

Bowe would be a great pickup. He's a better version of edwards. He's going to be pricey, though.

Funny you bring that up. Last night, I said, the GM is building an offense that the OC doesn't know how to use....

Hopefully, we get a new one next year. I have zero hope that he figures it out.

Coming out and sticking with the I formation until late in the third against the Ravens makes that pretty clear.

it doesn't matter what personell grouping or what formation we ran against Baltimore w/ our OL being as bad as it was we weren't going to have success.

Why are we putting the blame for no downfield passing on the o-line? They played well against the chowds - it's more clear than ever that coaching is why we keep everything close to the vest.

This....Everything is condenced into the box with this O. So all the D does is press coverage and send blitzers (we cant throw a fucking screen to save our lives either) How about a slant and go? How about some fly patterens up the seam with the TE and the WR on the same side dragging underneath? Come on schotty very elementary shit! We also need to take some real shots downfeild. I am sick of seeing us getting called for PI's (CROW) and never get that back in return. But, to a point it all starts upfron with 4-5 secs of pass protection; we are luck to see 3 now. Keep a fucking TE in to block or have conner, LT chipping the DE and focus the pinch up the middle...

Patriots defense sucks, just for a comparison they didn't sack Fitz once and he threw the ball 40 times.

Sanchez threw the ball a little more than half that and was sacked twice.

I'm not saying the OC doesn't suck but our line could've done much better Sunday.
