by Sunday night. When the Jets beat the Pats and the Eagles beat the Bills we are in first place and New England will have 2 losses in the division. All this talk about Sanchez is nonsense. The Ravens won with Dilfer. The Jets will win this week. Believe.
the Ravens won with the second best defense in the history of the NFL. if you don't see the difference between that defense and the Jets defense, please start threads after you watch a few games this season not through the apparent filter of your intestines. not to mention Dilfer wasn't a turnover machine. you kind of have to ignore that difference as well. damn you, Sundayjack.
Honestly this is the smartest post there has been since the raiders game. Everyone is jumping the gun, and condemning this team. We watch a sports game, anything can happen. Have the last two years started off any different? Did we beat the Ravens last year? We have wholes, but what team doesnt. When we go on our win streak like we have the past two years, see how quick all the haters leave. Rex is a great coach and has made this team one of the most competitive in the league, and prob the most enjoyable to be a fan of. So in the rough times dont beat up on our team, do your analysis and get ready to cheer them on the next week. Its sports enjoy it. We beat New England and the Bills lose. Sounds like first place to me. :jets: Edit: Okay maybe not the smartest, just cause that ravens d was really really good lol, but the rest of it is good stuff ! NO MORE SOJ !
How is this an epic fail? That he isnt bohooing over a loss. Were 2-2 people. With 12 fricken games left. We have injuries, we have wholes, but we also have a solid team with a good coach. Were going through prob the hardest stretch of the season. If we can win against NE then were in prime position. Football is a game of momentum, right now it is going our way. Refs, bad breaks, injuries can all turn in our favor at any time. We have the talent to compete with anyone, and with Mangold back the offensive line best talent and signal caller will be back. Having him call the line audibles instead of Sanchez or whoever has taken over that duty will be huge. Wait till we warm up and everyone will be singing a different tune. God damn people stick with ur team !
Sanchez had 1 really bad game. Are you going to give up on him based on 1 horrible game. I am not. The Pats defense is weak and they lost to the Bills. If the Bills can beat the Pats is it nonsense to say the Jets can beat the Pats. The Pats are a very good team but we are better. When was the last time the Pats won a playoff game. I did not say we have a defense as good as the Ravens did when they won the Super Bowl.
Dilfer is so underrated it's ridiculous. No he wasn't an eye popping stat QB but he made plays to win, it's not a coincidence that Bal hasn't been to a SB since 2000. No he wasn't THE reason they won, obviously it was the D but even the greatest D's need quality play from their QBs to win and Dilfer made a ton of huge plays for them. I don't known if they win that year w/o him.
But stating that the Ravens won with Dilfer must mean that you are aware they only won with him because they had arguably one of the greatest defenses in NFL history. You must also be aware that the 2011-12 Jets do NOT have one of the greatest defenses in NFL history - to mentioning that Ravens' team at all seems a bit odd.
a ton of huge plays. Are you serious. A ton? He averaged 136 yards per game and had a 76.6 qb rating.
I agree with you that he doesn't get enough credit. he was a good QB and did exactly what that team needed him to do without making many mistakes. but the team went 5 games straight during the season without the offense scoring a TD, and I think won 4 of them. the reality is the Ravens D, while great, hasn't been absolutely dominating since that year; that is why they haven't won a Super Bowl since, not because of Dilfer. Dilfer isn't the only change that has occurred that you can then pin point the lack of success on. because he made an analogy that simply has no merit, meaning that the basis of his position has no merit, thus the ridicule.
I love when people post ridiculous stats like that. They went 2-3 in those 5 games w/o a TD w/ the lone wins coming against 3-13 Cle and 7-9 Jax. Dilfer was only the QB for one of those games(the Pitt loss). The '06 Ravens were not quite the '00 ravens but they weren't far behind. In the playoffs they scored 6 pts in their playoff loss. They needed plays from their QB and didnt' get them. I'm not saying it was just Dilfer but they have needed a QB like him. rather than better #s guys like Grbac they needed a guy who could make plays and not make the big mistake to kill the D. if they had a Dilfer type in '06 they would have won the SB and as good as Flacco's reg season #s have been he has been dreadful in postseason and has held them back unlike our QB who has elevated his play in postseason.
If it plays out the way you explained the Bills are still in 1st place. We'd all be 3-2, but the tiebreaker is common opponents and we beat the Raiders while you guys lost to them. I wouldn't chalk the Eagles game up as a loss either for us.........Philly has been pretty brutal the 1st 4 weeks.
