We have to suck enough to be sure.

I'd be happy with any of those 3.

My fear is the 6 meaningless games we win if the coach gets canned...

I'd love to see another balanced offensive attack. The Jets haven't shown that they can stop the run this season and I really just want to see some more of Ridley. Now our defense is something I'd rather not watch. Henne, Fitzpatrick, and Campbell looked like HOF's against our D (ok, Campbell looked like a good QB, nothing more). I wouldn't mind if the Jets offense of last night shows up on Sunday, it would be nice to keep my blood pressure down for a week.

Do you have a need to be loved? Jets should be 1-3, the Pats will stick 35 on them and their offense blows almost as much as our pass D. 35-16.

really, just like the jets slowed down ray rice last night? now you are going up against a better offensive line and a RB that's averaging 8 YPC.

I think he's the difference between a decent Oline for the Jets and a terrible one.

Is he supposed to be ready?

I think any QB will look good against the Patriots D. They were a work in progress in any case and the injuries have just crippled them even further.

The keys to both teams is which team can stop the other from scoring touchdowns. Field goals (or better) will be a victory for the defense that causes it.

That's the key to the game imo.

It would be very nice if Hernadez was healthy for the Pats. That would really help the Patriots offense a lot.

If the Pats could actually pressure Sanchez I will be stunned.

I will be more than stunned if the Pats get ANY pressure on Sanchez. I just do not think it is possible...AT ALL, even if the entire O line took a nap every down.

Let's face facts here, The Pats need to fix their atrocious Defense and the Jets need to fix there atrocious Offense or neither team will even make the playoffs.

In fact, I would rather the Pats go 8 and 8 and come home with a ring then go 14-2 and get pimp slapped in the first round.

    just sayin

If you actually bothered looking up the sack rates you would find Brady gets sacked more than you think. Less than average, but not least or second least at all. More like 20-25th in the league.

Now he gets calls at the 30th lowest rate.

Hmm what the heck could that mean? Oh my it looks like the idea that he is getting calls at a higher rate is in fact wrong, and the NFL isn't giving Brady special protection?

Come on guys, take off the green glasses and lose the Brady Derangement Syndrome.

I think its a winnable game

Pass D on pats is crap, our D has stepped up

If the Offense gets going I think we'll be good.

Jets run defense is garbage .. 28th rank .. Ridley will have a career day .. They will target Mike Devito as a matter of fact .. in my opinion of course

 how is it GARBAGE? McFadden run on us wild yes but that has been the only blown up this season. Ridley had a great game yesterday, it doesnt mean he'll run wild on the JETS.

This is starting to sound like Raiders week when all the Raiders fans said Moore was going to out jump Revis all because he did so against the Bills.

they are ranked 9th in the league in rushing, which is good enough to beat the jets run D which is ranked at the bottom of the league.

Is that how it works? All my life I thought that football was about matchups, how naive I have been.

Yes. One of the things that makes football so interesting is that the "best" team doesn't always win. More than in any other team sport coaching and strategy can effect the outcome

That chess game is especially interesting in the NFL where, despite what most of us fans think, ALL the players are very talented. Great coaching CAN make a difference. Just look at the 2001 Pats, who must have been the LEAST talented (relatively)team ever to win a superbowl. Or look at the Playoff game in Foxboro just last season. Overall I think the Pats were the better team, but the Jets had a better game plan, executed it, and won the game.

So one of the reasons that BB has been able to keep the Pats so consistently competitive is that he created a system whereby he can have completely different game plans for each opponent without overloading his players. Don't ask me how he does it.

So to answer the original question he WILL have a completely new offense and defense planned for this week. Now I wouldn't pretend to know what he's going to do, but I can guess. I am a fan, and that's my right.

    1. Stop the run - so I think the Jets will see more 3-4 looks in run downs especially if Mangold is not playing. Its simply a better D vs the run.

    2. Don't let Keller into the seam, especially on play action

    3. Don't let LT out of the backfield. the Ravens did a great job on this last night. If you tackle him at the LOS, you don't have to cover him down field. THese are the 2 players that Sanchez looks for, especially when he's in trouble.

    4. I'd play 5 man under alternating at tight zone and man coverages with 2 deep safeties and try and make Sanchez throw into tight holes between the undercoverage and over the top Safeties. Sanchez will make his share of these throws, but he'll also put some balls up there for grabs

    5. I'd position my DBs to stop the slant to Holmes that Sanchez likes and throws well

    6. I wouldn't blitz much, but when I did I would use overload blitzes rather than send more than 5 guys, though I would line up 9 on the LOS looking like an all out blitz.

    7. And while I'm sad to say it, I would have my DL use a controlled pass rush. I don't want Sanchez running around back there. Because sometimes he's more accurate on the run than in the pocket. The key, as with most QBs, the "illusion" of pressure is almost as effective as actual pressure. If you make a QB of Sanchez's experience to make quick decisions constantly, he is bound to make his share of mistakes. Above all try not to let him throw on rhythm.

    8. Offensively I looking run formations that allow me to get my receivers free releases off the LOS. I'm looking ot match Gronk up against a LB in the short areas, and a small S deep. Lots of crossing patterns

    9. I want to be able to run the ball. Last season the Pats didn't take advantage of the new looks the Jets gave Brady. In the playoff game the Jets played more zone defenses and packed the middle of the field. It was hell on the receivers, but the Jets had to give up run coverage, and the Pats didn't take advantage of time where there were only 2 DLmen on the field. THIS year the Pats are running the ball MUCH better, so if the Jets run those 2 DL sets I want to be able to run the ball down their throats

    10. Knowing that I don't know what I'm going to get from Rex, I want to prepare my coaches to be better prepared to make adjustments during the game.

Match ups- I want to run at Maybin/Westy I want to se how the Jets are going to cover Welker and throw to the open guy Gronk on the Safeties is a good match up. Ocho on Wilson is a good match up. No free ride for Baxter. Pressure Hunter

Bottom line BB is a bend but don't break coach. With all the injuries on the DL I don't think he cam be as aggressive or creative he would
like. Fortunately we have an offense that good enough to put up points. I don't think the Jets running game is a severe enough threat to impact the game. he won't want his team to fall for play action fakes. he won't allow the OLB lose contain on the bootleg. He CANNOT allow quick strike scores, so he will be willing to trade yards for time Willing to trade FGs for TDs He will want to give an offense that makes a lot of mistakes the opportunity to make those mistakes

Well that's pretty much MY game plan. I'm sure BB will have a better on

Now JC, how do you think the Jets will attack the Pats

Hahahah your coaches would be ignorant if they ignored MIke Devito. He's along with Pouha are two Vets who are great at stopping the run. Man, I dare your team to run right at devito. One of the more underrated D-Linemen in the league.

Try running on us 'all day' and see how the rooks career day goes

Man your a fucking dumbass. Did you cry yourself to sleep when you saw he was out for an extended period...
