Any update besides what we know of him being carted off last night and on crutches?

    Per Manish:

Jets fearing significant injury for OLB Bryan Thomas. "I'm sure it's not good," source says. MRI later this morning. #nyj

A trade for Aaron Curry makes sense if BT misses significant time.

Agreed. I wanted the deal before, but now it is a must.

It didn't look good for BT.. purely speculation, but I think it looked like an Achilles injury, which would almost certainly end his season.

As much as I'd like to see a guy like Curry come in and see how he can fit into Rex's scheme, I just can't imagine them trading for him. His contract is an albatross and it would be hard to find a way to fit him in.

    Didn't they re-work Curry's contract?

not a dr. but might have possibly played his last game as a jet. imo his replacement needs to be priority number one on the defense this offseason whether its via draft or fa.

Damn shame to go out like it looks like he will. He was a huge disappointment, but he did enough to avoid the "bust" label.

I think he could offer something still, but not as a starter. Maybe as a utility LB, he's good enough in run support and coverage to backup all 4 LB positions...

If Thomas is out what do we do on defense?

I am really reaching for straws here and I know based on scheme the players might not seem to fit, but do you think we are going to see more 4 man fronts?

Wilkerson at end (playing Ellis' old role), Devito/Ropati/Pouha playing DT, and Pace playing end?

Harris in the middle, Mauga on the weak side, Scott on the Strong side?

I'm not advising us to switch to a 4-3, just making some suggestions.

Yes I know Cactus was never very good at DE, but I find it hard to believe that after progressing so much at OLB, he would be terrible at Defensive End.

I would say, it was somewhat of a disappointment that they drafted him in the first place given who was still on the board (Ed Reed!!). However; over the years he has developed into a solid starter. Never worthy of a 1st round pick but also not an outright bust. I would put him on the level of a Jeff Lageman type player.

I think we can put Westerman in for Thomas and there wouldn't be a massive drop off.Westerman is pretty solid,a better pass rusher than Thomas but not as good when it comes to run stopping.

Curry is a better fit at ILB in our defense. Seattle already tried him at an 3-4 OLB; that didn't pan out.

I hear this a lot about Westerman being a good pass rusher. When was the last time he had a sack?

You can still be a decent pass rusher and not get sacks. He's got a few QB hurries in limited snaps.

I'm not saying he's Demarcus Ware but I like how he uses his hands and changes up his pass rushing moves.
