Yep, as always it will be swept under the rug as all HUGE oversights in NFL games are, and no one will show just how many holds the Ravens got away with, the contact on our WR's or the hitting the kicker no-calls. Even the fumble/"incoplete pass" calls I can understand the way they called those but all the rest is absurd, it almost looks like a rigged game.
Read my post. I said the team sucks. And yes Sanchez is abso;utelt pathetic and a momentum killer. But the officiating is absolutely pathetic and it has cost us plenty.
We know we have problems, nobody is blaming this on the refs, but to say the officiating hasn't been terrible is wrong.
The officiating was horrible... And the sad part is, if the officiating was good, the Jets still would've gotten killed
our offensive line problems are obvious. The ravens shored up their line with salary cap casualties from other teams. What did the overconfident , and arrogant Jet front office do? Inquiring minds want to know. Now.
Obviously the team sucked ass tonight, but bad officiating changes the whole tone of the game and makes bad turn to worse because I would imagine they feel like they can't do anything right even when they do.
You got a bad call with the non-call on roughing the punter, though that was a major league head lock the Jet player had on that play. The rest were close calls but not ones you should have complaints. The first Sanchez fumble was definitely a good call. The second was closer, but not enough to overturn the call on the field.. On the other hand, Jet fans who are complaining about the refs should be thankful that most employ "Revis Rules" to the Jet secondary, especially for Revis So while the refs might missed that roughing the punter call, you should be thankful that they ignored the 28 illegal contact and holding calls they ignored on Darrelle during the game. Where you all complaining about the refs on that replay that showed him pulling on the jersey TWICE 20 yds down field on that long pass early in the game? BTW- BUT I do agree that it seemx THIS season the officiating is worse. Its been very inconsistent. Could the lockout hurt the refs
Two running into the kicker penalties not being called is horrendous. I expect Mike Carey to be getting a reprimand for this game. That's all I'm going to say.
Am I really seeing this shit from a Pats fan? The team that had fucking Ty Law create or reignite DPI rules for mugging WRs in the middle of their routes? Forgive me but this is the last source I'd EVER take a comment like this seriously. Or don't forgive me. Whatever.
"And 5 yards to go." Call me crazy (feel free) but I've never heard that before from a ref calling a penalty, he did it 3 or 4 times. The no call on the helmet to Sanchez's back is disgusting. Worse than the fist to his face no call last week. I honestly want these refs to stop by the TTF so I can tell them DIAFF.
Listen that's all well and good with your imaginary "Revis Rules" philosophy but when Collinsworth (who is a notorius Jets basher) and Michaels are questioning the calls there is an issue. Fact - they blew a spot on a punt (didn't amount to anything but could have resulted in a safety) Fact - Sanchez was hit but Ngata with a helmet before any other part of his body, like it or not that is a penalty. Fact - Conley was hit in his planet leg not once but twice. Those are also clear cut penalties regardless of what transpired previous to that. How many rules have changed because of the Pats? We have the Ty Law Rule , now it's penalty if a guy gets near a QB's legs never mind if it was unintentional and the rule that apparently has disappeared into thin air because it never existed but the tuck rule. The only thing your right on is the inconsistency part, it's all a joke. The Cowboy/Lions game was terrible. The call on Suh was horseshit. The block in the back on Burleson was BS as well, he didn't hit that guy in numbers, that's what defines a block in the back.
It was one of those perfect storm type games. The offense was beyond pathetic, and every single borderline call seemed to go our way. As BtB said, there were multiple missed calls in this game, as well as some blatant holding calls that they missed. Plus, that 2nd fumble was really close to being a forward pass, and there's a good argument to be made it was one. If the ball came out when Ngata hit Sanchez, it's a fumble. But the ball came out as he was starting to move the ball forward, a few milliseconds after he got hit by Ngata, and at that point, the ball started to come forward with the ball ever so slightly. That easily could have been overturned, even though by no means did I think it would, given how the tide of the game was going. They weren't winning anyway though, except if you take the 7 points off the board in the Ngata fumble, then it wouldn't have been impossible. Still, that was a bang-bang play, I'm not complaining about it whatsoever. That could have gone either way, we had heads, and it came up tails. No biggie. The special teams calls were awful though. I feel reffing has gotten worse and worse every year in NFL. MLB and college basketball as well, for that matter.
Good teams find a way to win when officiating is bad. This team sucks. Although this game's officiating was horrible. Trust me, I have attended officiating meetings for peewee football so I am really qualified to talk about this.
ROFL, I noticed that too, I was like, WTF is he announcing how many yards to go for??? Officiating has become jovial lately across many games, Did you see the refs reverse their own ruling without a challenge during the Pats game yesterday? I was thinking, Have I ever seen this happen without a challenge before? No Sir, I have not.
What a bunch of cry babies all of you are, I was at the game last night front and center on the 50 yard line. Maybe if you had a decent QB and people who could block, the outcome would have been different. If Jets fans think Sanchez is the "Sanchise" you are all clueless. You go out and get a washed up Mason who the Ravens cut lol, and a guy who shot himself in the leg and hasn't played in 2 years. Good luck losing to New England next week, it was quite the scene to see the fairweather Jets fans leaving early in the third quarter.
Lots of good posts in here, but I'm going to dickride this one. Not a single person in here is "blaming" the loss on the refs. The Jets played like shit. The Jets lost the game. HOWEVER, the officiating was fucking terrible and lop sided. Bad calls and non-calls. This is the second game in a row this has happened. And quite frankly, the officiating seems to just suck all around this year. It sucks that the teams can't publically call out shit like this. To paraphrase ND, welcome to Goodellerica.
