I haven't seen his name metioned once in any article, and I keep reading about Trevor Johnson and Bryan Thomas fighting for the WOLB. Where is he?

Actually, he is going to be a MLB in the 3-4.

I also haven't seen much written about him. I'm not really worried about it though since it shows that last season's injury is not an issue. He will play a big part in our defense this season.

I think Barton will fit in great with the 3-4 working alongside Vilma on the inside. He's definatly physical enough to play inside linebacker, theres no question about that.
I think he hasn't been mentioned much in articles about the jets because he's one of the few players on this roster with no question marks about him. He's solid, healthy, ready to play and has no issues.

I heard on a differerent site that him and Vilma are the starters at ILB, with Kassel and Schegel rotating....Vilma and Barton switch up depending on the offensive set in order to best protect Vilma, and let him be more of a roamer, while Barton is the bigger ILB who usually will take on blocks more often

I hope Barton does well in the middle. I was impressed with his edge ability 2 seasons ago when he was healthy. Can he play inside?

I would much rather see Barton on the outside. The problem is that in the 3-4 your OLB must be a pass rusher which is the reason why BP wanted JA for that role.
Can Barton effectively rush the QB?

MAn look around the site a bit and read the training camp reports...he's been playing ILB with Vilma in the 3-4.
