This was not a SOJ loss, those guys are dead. A SOJ loss is if we lose to Kansas City or last week against Jax when we had 4 INTs. We got beat by a team that is going to win the AFC West. Losses to playoff teams on the road would not qualify as a SOJ loss. Whether people want to believe ot or not the Raiders are a good team and they have one of the best running backs in the league. They are good in the trenches and Campbell doesn't make a ton of mistakes. Their weakness is in the secondary and we did a poor job of exploiting that weakness.
It's not his fault, but he needs to make quicker reads and get rid of the ball if nobody's open. He holds on to the ball too long.
Yeah, I missed opportunity BUT ... the Pats now have a Division loss. No matter what happens next week in both of our games, as long as we beat them on October 9th we'll have a big edge on them.
At a glance it looks like they scored 24. 1 FG + 3 TD (one of which was returned after the pick). They took advantage of every one. Equally important were the points that we left on the board via those turnovers. Two were in the redzone, plus another we were already in FG range. Potentially (though unlikely) a swing of 45 points. Just goes to show how much the turnover differential matters.
So many people are so quick to overlook the Raiders. The Raiders are alot better than you give them credit for. Dmac is the truth....... BUT. I would have never amagined him rushing for 171 yards gainst against the jets truth be told. I didn't even think he'd get more than 80. But nonetheless, the OL of the Raiders have proven they are not the OL from last year. What ya'll don't realize is alot of faces have changed on the OL. And they're trully playing like Bullies. A message that offensive minded HC Hue Jackson preaches. Too bad the defense is slow to learning that. On a defensive note though, alot of suppose to be great defenses have not played great at all this season. 1. GB allowed a rookie to throw for over 400+ yrds 2. Pits defense got shreaded by baltimore week 1 3. Cowboys offense gave ya'll alot of issue but some things bounced i ya'll favor 4. Ravens got killed in week defensively gainst the Titans in which C. Johnson wasn't even the factor I've seen comments aimed at our defense on this site (well actually the whole team). They've ranged from sound to out right ridiculous. The 1st 2weeks the Raiders defense was lights out, but for some odd reason didn't show up the 2nd half, especially against the Bills. But I think the lockout has alot to do with the lack of play from defenses so far this season..... and probally won't see lights play until after 2-3 more weeks. For those who stubornly believe this should have been a gimme even after the fact. We have a Juggernaut of an offense. Under Hue we went from bottom 5 in offense to top 10 in 1 year. Oh........ you thought T. Cable was responsible for turning around the ship??? Plz...... H. Jackson has had much success in every coaching role he's been assigned. It was only inevitable that he would be a HC one day. Plus his mentor in Al Saunders, another offensive genius has become our OC..... Ya'll thought we would regress Raiders own the AFC West. Did ya'll forget we SWEPT our division??? We did not do well outside our division and that was our downfall. This year, we will OWN our division AGAIN and do better outside our division. I like the Jets actually....... but I don't like my team getting dogged out.........calling us as fans "animals"......... calling the city of Oakland a "prison". Ya'll listen to the media too much who of course are Al Davis haters........ who love to kick us VERY BAD when we're down. Raiders are for real this year........ maybe we'll see ya'll in the play-offs Good luck on the rest of the season. The Pats game at our house is gonna be a major shoot-out I believe. Their defense sucks, Dmac will go beast mode on them and Campbell will more than likely duplicate another game like he did against the Bills, who's defense is better than the Pats. Think about it, if we can score (to my suprise) 34 points o you, think of what our offense can do to them??? I'm just saying keep things in perspective. Just cause Brady hasn't lost 2 in row don't mean it won't happen. When have you ever heard of Brady throwing 4 INT's in 1 game??? This is not too far fetched to believe it can't happen this week the way our wjole offense is performing. I bet we won't be down 21-3 at the half in the Black Hole
Sanchz had a creer day against our defense, but it was overshadowed by the loss....... regardless of wher the blame is put........ the Raiders is a much improved team with what looks to be an explosive offense with serious playmakers.
Any team can. As the Jets found out, OAK is again a tough place to play and going cross country only adds to it. I'm not worried about Brady forcing the ball again. My main concern is getting 5 starters back healthy. I think BB might gamble again and try and rest some some banged up people till we play the Jets.
Now don't go getting ahead of yourself but I was expecting a tough game. You guys made the plays, we didn't. Your better then a lot of people here were willing to give you credit for. I live on the West Coast so I get a lot of Raider info. I knew they were good. I actually predicted them to win the division. They will win a lot of games if they play like they did yesterday. I know there is a general excitment among fans about the Raiders and it's deserved. We'll all be Raider fans next week so go fuck up the Pats.
God damnit it people need to chill the hell out. If we lose to the Ravens, we will still be playing for the marbles the next week against the Patriots. And honestly dont give a fuck if the Bills are "technically" in first place with a record of 5-0 or 4-1. Their comeback from 21-0 and 21-3 WILL NOT work all season. They can live off their little 3-0 start but its not going to be lasting much longer. Best of all we havent even played the Ravens yet so at worst we are 2-2 going into New England but IMO theirs a good chance we are 3-1. This board will go from completely pessimistic to optimistic similar to how last year from week 1 to week 2. Rex will have the Jets beyond prepared for the Ravens, thats a guarenteed.
Except for in 2009. Judging by how they pissed that 21-0 lead away, I think 2009 is repeating itself...
