Nice thanks for all the reports, can you keep an eye out for Matt Mcchesney#95 let us know if he stands out.
great report, but what the deal with clemens? one of you said he was impressive and one said he wasnt
I have an excellent feeling about Jerricho "Kick In The " Cotchery. I look for big things from him this year.
The Star Ledger reported today that on Saturday, Pennington looked good and Clemmons did not. Now Petro said the same about today's practice. This QB battle has a loong way to go. I still think that Pennington will improve with more reps and that it is better for the rookie to sit a year. It will be Pennington vs. Ramsey IMO.
This really sounds like the end for Brooksy. Damn. I think the kid has potential. Kinda disapointed on the report of Justin Miller. I have high hopes for him.
I guess it depends when that person arrived at practice. Rich Cimini's blog said Clemens struggled: http://blogs.nydailynews.com/jets/archives/2006/07/camp_heating_up.php "Rookie Kellen Clemens finally got his chance to lead the starting team, meaning the Jets? QB rotation - longer than the Yankees? pitching rotation - has completed one cycle. To be kind, Clemens struggled in the 11-on-11 drills. He floated a long ball to Justin McCareins that was intercepted by FS Kerry Rhodes. That?s at least the second time in camp that Clemens didn?t read the safety, resulting in a pick. Hey, he?s a rookie, so there will be growing pains. Clemens also has two passes knocked down at the line of scrimmage." But in Newsday Ken Berger's blog said Clemens looked sharp: http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/football/jets/blog/ "It was Kellen Clemens' turn with the starting offense, and he looked sharp for the most part. Through four practices, Mangini has finished one complete rotation with the QBs and said it will continue without changes." Alot of ambivalence going around
Thanks again for the pics and updated report. It's quite disconcerting to hear all all the negative reactions to Clemens' day, but I guess it's to be expected from a rookie. At least not everyone seems to think he did poorly today. I'm also glad to hear Cotchery is still on the rise. Hopefully this can finally be his breakout year for the team. I'll be looking forward to hearing about his progress throughout TC.
I was there. It was DAMN hot. I forgot to bring cash, figuring there would be an ATM somewhere. Nope. No water for the kids because all the cups for the cooler were gone.
Yeah why don't we call up Chicago and see if we can get Michael Haynes and Rex Grossman instead of D-Rob. It's a new regime and a new plan. The CS and FO can only work with what they were given.
So b/c he had fell over during a tackling drill he's a waste? Funny b/c he was one of the players Mangini noted as playing well in friday's press conference..and as we've seen early, compliments from mangini do not come easily. How soon people forget how much D rob meant to our defense 2 season's ago when we were a field goal away from the AFC championship. But as Rambo said, we could've Had Michael Haynes and Rex Grossman w/ those picks we gave up, right?
What's been the general tone of camp this year? More businesslike/fluid than years before, or is there no noticeable difference?
Terrific read, fellas. I'm going to camp with T-Bird on Tuesday. Hope the brutal heat they're predicting doesn't ruin the practice.
As always, thank you MM. Please show some love and give me the formations that you see offensively and defensively. I've really been wondering if during the 11 - 11 drills they reflect the following: 1. defense is playing Cover 2 and the Offense is executing plays that attack the Cover 2 2. a focus on improving weaknesses (executing the 34 or whatever, and executing the shotgun or whatever) 3. or ??????? Which best describes our CS to this point It's just hard to make assessments of the offensive players when they are practicing against the Jet Defense and it's hard to make assessments of the defensive players when they are practicing against the Jet Offense. Your reports are great, and if you could...please "throw me a frickin' bone here!"
