I guess their recoveries aren't going as well as planned. At least this means we get to see what our other backs and recievers can do in a starting role during the preseason. See: www.newyorkjets.com
Probably the same injury that he had last year...this is why I say his performance last year wasn't nearly as bad as everyone was saying...the guy was hurt.
it means they won't be practicing this week, but they can come off the PUP list at any time. It just means that as of today neither one can practice.
I think McCarreins had some kind of leg injury, pulled muscle or something last year that he just played through but it affected his route running.
According to the rules you cannot go on PUP once camp starts and you are on the active roster. These moves allow rehab for Martin and McCariens and allows other players to get playing time. They can come off PUP at any time. I would not be concerned.
JMac hurt his foot during the last mini-camp, but obviously with Mangini nobody knows the extent of it....
I hope that this is only precautionary and Mangini is just throwing people off. Martin has always stated that he feels and plays better if he gets into a rhythm before the season starts.
I love that fact that houston will get a chance to perform, but i am worried about the car accident that he was in. I don't see it mentioned very much when yall talk about him, but that's the type of thing that gives injuries that won't be noticed until he starts to hit. I really think the accident might have more of an impact than most people let on...and what a shame, cause i really thought this guy was going to get a chance to prove himself.
Not that this is good news, but it is good to see Cotch get a schott and also moves Brad Smith up the depth chart. I'm a big Houston supporter as well ... I thought he did very well considering the circumstances last season and COULD become a solid starter in this league.
I take your word seriously, due to some things you've said in the past, but THAT'S a bombshell. Do you really believe that?
If Curtis retires it will be yet another classy act on his part, as he is clearly not the answer for a rebuilding Jet's team. I've been worried about how this transition was going to happen. Emmitt Smith clearly hurt the Cowboys by hanging on too long. Curtis was kind of a coin flip to try for 17,000 yards at an 850 yard a season pace or hang them up. If he's really hanging them up it would make his last chapter as a Jet fit with all the other ones.
