Yeah seriously...that was pretty lame and you may have just made yourself a running joke on the board.

dude...stop. Take the hit, laugh it off and get on with things. Continuing to make excuses just makes you look really insecure.

Does anyone find it funny that we're ripping someone's grasp of the English language in a thread about an Antonio Cromartie press conference? Just me?

Cromartie might be the single most important player on the Jet defense. He is the one teams will attack. They will target him. They will throw quick slants against him where he needs to make the tackle if the ball is caught. Then they will go long against him. He will be covering the 2nd best reciever on each team the Jets play. Teams will run towards his side trying to wear him down so they can go long against him. Thats what happens when you have a Revis as the other corner. Thats why the Jets wanted Asomugha so badly because then him and Revis would see equal action. Now Cromartie is gonna earn his money because the oppositions game plan will be to beat him. Cro will need to be on his A game every play. If he can get a few early season interceptions maybe teams might not attack him so much. I hope Cromartie is ready for all this cause its coming.

Getting Aso would have ruined one important part of the way Rex uses Revis. Rex plays Revis all over the place on any particular down....the offense has no idea where Revis will line up when the play is called. Could be the slot. Could be outside. Don't know.

But Aso ONLY plays one side of the field no matter who lines up over there.

This would lock Revis onto the other side no matter what, eliminating the surprise effect Rex loves to throw at defenses.

Not a huge deal, but with Cro Revis is free to roam about a bit more than with Aso.

You mean like last year. You make it sound like this is his first year with the Jets. He did fine then and he will only be better this year.

Look let's be honest,we didn't "need" Aso, It would have been a nice luxery but for the $ i'd rather have Cro.
The only problem I have with this whole situation is not using the money saved to get somebody to address our biggest need and that's a pass rush.

Unfortunately, there was no big pass rush FA to sign.

The Jets have to trade for one, and I wouldn't put it past Tanny to do that. Its the missing piece.

Cut BT, save almost 4mil worth of cap room and get a OLB in his place through a trade.

Understandable that at this point there isn't much fruit left on the FA tree but I think had the Jets just persued Cro or Joseph in the first place maybe we could have added a Cullen Jenkins or someone else when these guys were still on the market?
As great a GM as Tanny is,and I love the guy,but I think he kinda dropped the ball in his persuit of Aso and screwed us out of some other opportunities.

Cro is helped out a lot by the fact he doesn't have to face #1 receivers. He is quite good at covering tall guys, by the small quick guys give him trouble because he is so tall that he can't be as quick as they are.

Loved the passion in the news conference.

And for those saying Tanny screwed us by not getting Asomugha... I think Tanny did a great job this offseason. For the most part he kept our entire team in tact, with the exception of losing Brad Smith, and swapping Plaxico for Braylon.

I thought Cromartie was the fastest guy on the team. During Hard Knocks last season, Mark was talking about racing him. Also I think his speed is one of the reason he's used on kick returns.

No he didn't. We just drafted two DL. Jenkins was never coming here.

We can't assume the Jets lost out on other FAs because they chased one guy. In the time Aso chose a team, no one substantial went to another team.

What about Matt Roth for pass rush help? Not saying he's great or anything but he'd def be better then anything we have on the roster sans a healthy Calvin Pace.

I don't know why everyone's dick is hard over Matt Roth and Manny Lawson. Bryan Thomas had as many sacks as both of them combined last year, with 6.

I know he pretty much sucks but so do these guys. Lawson is at least athletic and young but I don't think he's the answer to our lack of pass rush. He's probably a slight upgrade over Westerman. I want nothing to do with Roth.

Its amazing what the mind can conjure up.

Its a wanting of them to do better than what is already out there.

Its the cousin to Brett Ratliff Syndrome.
