If you could only bring back one...

?

Who would you rather the Jets resign, if they don't have room for both?

  1. Antonio Cromartie (and add a cheaper option at WR, like M. Floyd/J. Jones)

    27.6%
  2. Braylon Edwards (and add a cheaper option at CB, like C. Carr/N.Clements)

    72.4%

Many are talking as if the Jets will have the money to bring back Braylon and Cro. Obviously we all hope they do, but if they're only about 15 mil under the cap, it's unlikely they would have the room to do so. Thus, if you could only keep one, and sign a cheaper option at the other position, which would you prefer?

Money isn't going to be the huge issue, especially if they resign Harris long term. It's getting the players to want to come here. With that said, I'd rather have Braylon and let Kyle Wilson show what he has.

Agreed. I'm sold on Wilson as the #2 corner and a vet nickel, and bringing back Braylon if he'll come. If we do, though, I'd love to see an upgrade at safety - Wilson's going to get targetted a lot and he's going to miss some, we need a safety who is going to be effective in coverage and I'm still not entirely convinced that Smith and Pool are the answer.

I went with Braylon but I don't think we are going to resign him. My guess is Rex will insist on making Cro the priority and there won't be enough money for both of them (Although, I have been shocked by the lack of initial interest in Braylon Edwards - I think his piss poor reputation around the league is somewhat unwarranted)

My personal guess is that we will end up signing Cromartie and then bringing in Randy Moss (Yes, I still think the Jets have interest in Moss).

honestly, it's a very tough choice. Braylon is so talented, though. I just think keeping our talented receivers together would benefit Sanchez so much. And to me, we aren't fully overtaking the Patriots for good until Sanchez develops into a legit, 2nd tier quarterback.

Go for Edwards. Really good chemistry with him and sanchez and that's important. Cro is a good corner but why did we draft a corner in round 1 ? Year 2 he should be better. I Hope.

    We can all hope.

I went with Braylon. Even if i dont have faith in Kyle being our number two to start the season

The Jets did just fine with revis as the only stud CB. The Jets D is fine. Give Mark more targets. Braylon has been a team player, while Cro gives the Jets a big middle finger after paying for his kids.

I clicked Braylon back by accident. We really need Cro back though. Braylon can easily be replaced with a Randy Moss or James Jones or basically anyone halfway decent on the market, but our defense revolves around corners, and having one amazing corner and the rest of them mediocre just doesn't cut it when you play the top teams. We need Cro or Asante Samuel. Aso is a fucking cunt, but he is exactly what we needed. We need to sign Cro no matter what price. We just can't afford having a cheaper option like Chris Carr. We need a solid perennial pro bowl corner as our #2 and if Wilson can't step up big this year, then we need to bring Cro back no matter the price. This team can survive with a mediocre #2 receiver, but can't survive with a mediocre #2 CB.

    Mark Sanchez = SB

The defense can find a corner.... but can't they find me a fucking pass rusher!!

I want Braylon. There's other cb options out there if only one can be brought back. I'll take Clements or maybe a trade for Samuel. Sanchez needs his weapons around him.

I would personally love to see both players return, but after the Asomugha incident, and the subsequent reports from Manish Mehta about not pursuing Braylon, it is difficult for me to envision the Jets bringing either of them back. Hard to take those choices seriously in that context.

    Beer isn't an option?

Id like Richard Marshall to be considered for CB he's been a tackling machine for Carolina last few years good man to man corner as well. WR big and tall is all we need and there is a lot of players still available at WR its probably the deepest position still available in FA.

this.we got the perfect matchups to allow us to get to the afccg in 09.last year cro was the difference between payton carving us up and advancing.same against brady.we have to beat the 2 best qb's in the game in order to get to the s.b. so we better be strong on the back end of the defense.so if the idea was to get the best cb available why would it change now that the top one is off the market?

At the end of the day, we like Edwards alot more then the Jets do. They think he wants way too much money and from what i've read, the Jets have almost no interest in bringing him back unless he wants to come for a bargain.
