I understand that as of right now, none of us really know what type of impacts our rookies will make for us. I also understand that free agency has just begun, so it'll be foolish to actually try and predict the schedule while not knowing how the Jets or any other teams roster will shape out. I'm just looking at our schedule based off of last year. Through my eyes, it looks pretty tough. vs Dallas: 6-10 vs Jacksonville: 8-8 @ Raiders: 8-8 @ Baltimore: 12-4 If the Jets go 3-1 I'll be very pleased moving forward. The Cowboys and Ravens should be fun games to watch. I've wanted a rematch with the Ravens since week 1 of last year. Both the Jags and Raiders shouldn't be slept on either. Getting off to a strong start could be key for our chances of actually hosting a playoff game. @ NE: 14-2 vs Miami: 7-9 vs SD: 9-7 @ Buffalo: 4-12 That doesn't look to be an easy stretch by all means. The Patriots will have revenge on their mind, the Dolphins always show up for the Jets and we all know how talented the Chargers have been over the years. I'm never confident with a Bills game in Buffalo either. Once again, I'll take 3-1 in stride and even settle for 2-2. vs NE: 14-2 @ Denver: 4-12 vs Buffalo: 4-12 @ Washington: 6-10 As of right now? Other than the Patriots, that looks like our weakest 4 game window of the season. Anything less than 3-1 would have to be considered a failure for a teams that's considered to be SB contenders. vs KC: 10-6 @ Philly: 10-6 vs NYG: 10-6 @ Miami: 7-9 That just looks like a dangerous 4 games, for the simple fact, other than the Dolphins... I can picture every other game having playoff implications with all teams involved. I'm just not a believer in the Dolphins. If we're a true super bowl contender, we need to go at least 3-1 against those teams. This looks to be a fun schedule though. I already can't wait for the preseason. I'm looking forward to watching us play teams such as the Patriots (2x), Ravens, Cowboys, Chargers, Eagles and Giants. If we can go 5-2 against those teams, I like our chances of hosting a playoff game and maybe even winning the AFC East. While we face the Jaguars and Ravens, the Patriots take on the Colts and Steelers, so I'm thanful we avoided both the Steelers and Colts.
Agreed. That division is a bit of a mess, and they fell apart against Oakland and were embarrassed by Baltimore. They also had probably the wimpiest schedule of all last season.
Oh wow I know they played each other this year but I didnt know they played the Giants so late in the season If both teams have playoff aspirations at the time the bars and house parties should be extra rowdy I'm also looking for a game where BOTH revis and Nnamdi would be covering 2 top notch receivers on the team... Nnamdi is over kill imo
Its Christmas Eve. Its going to be ridiculous. And we will likely whipe the floor with their blue and white jerseys. I cant wait for that.
Bryant & Austin in Dallas. Would be super helpful having Aso against NE and Miami. Rivers always spreads the ball around, so Aso would give us a huge leg up. Philly of course has lots of weapons for Revis and Aso to pick from.
I think we could wipe the floor with the Colts if we had Aso. Would like to not play them 3 years in a row in the playoffs, though. Not sure my heart could take it.
You think so? I really like some of their offensive players such as Matt Cassel, who had an amazing season last year with 27 TD's/7 INT's, 3,000+ yards, along with a QB rating of 93.0. Jamaal Charles, Dwayne Bowe and Dexter McCluster are also top of the line play-makers. I just cant picture the Chiefs going below .500, not when they have a top 5 offensive rushing attack. KC ranked #1 in rushing yards last year and #4 in average yards per carry so it's obvious they have an outstanding offensive line. The Chiefs were the only team who averaged more rushing attempts than the Jets last season. I just can't picture them falling out of the AFC West race this season. Thomas Jones also put up2 896 yards and 6 TD's. That KC defense is also loaded with talent. They should continue to improve this season. They ranked 14th last year in yards given up per game and 11th in points allowed. They just drafted a kid out of Miami by the name of Allen Bailey during the 3rd round... He's a strong DE prospect. Glenn Dorsey really came into his own last year with 69 tackles/2 sacks. Tyson Jackson is another player I like on their defensive line heading into his 3rd season out of LSU. I really like their LB's with Tamba Hali (14 sacks last year) and Derrick Johnson who put up 120+ tackles leading that KC defense. I'm also in love with their secondary featuring players such as Brandon Flowers, Brandon Carr and Javier Arenas at CB with Eric Berry leading the way at Safety, a player who put up 92 tackles and 4 INT's as a rookie last year. Don't forget about Mike Vrabel either. I'm not sure if he's returning, but if he does? Thats a strong veteran leader to have on a young defense. They do have a tough schedule, but I believe the Chiefs are a team on the rise and not because of their weak schedule last year... but because of their talent.
It's all about winning the AFC East this year. That has to be our #1 goal. A bye would be perfect, but we need to host a playoff game this year. We can't expect to make the SB when having to win 3 road playoff games. Give us Manning and the Colts @ home during the winter and I guarantee our defense and rushing attack murderers them for 4 quarters strong.
We should be the favorites in every single game if we have Aso, no reason not to be. The only team I can make an arguement that could be better is the Packers but we dont even play them so no worries.
