At this point it's almost certain that we will not be keeping both of them.

I keep seeing in this thread and that thread about who they hope goes and why, so heres the offical soap box thread of "who should go, who should stay".

    It's like Highlander

    There can be only one...

What makes it almost certain that we won't sign both? If I were Santonio, I would rather play in NY for less than have to play in Washington. Edwards seems pretty set on staying anyway.

Holmes is the better receiver. Better route runner. Better YAC.

Resigning both would be a huge mistake. We are a defensive team not an offensive team and offensively we are a run heavy team not a passing team. So why invest so much money in one of the most least important area's of the team? I firmly believe Sanchez will have a better passing year no matter who is out there. I'm way more concerned about the defense because it was very shaky last year, altho if we can somehow create a pass rush with Wilkerson and Ellis then watch out because we WILL have a big time defense.

Ya! Let's be a one-dimensional team instead of taking advantage of the opportunity to be an elite defensive AND offensive team!

On that note I think the Steelers should let go of Randle El, Ward, and Sanders, because they only need Mike Wallace.

    awwwwwwwwwwww shit!!!!!!!!!11!!!!!! it's da remix

To the section in bold: ...the fuck are you talking about?

    3rd best run defense
3rd best in total yardage per game
6th best in points allowed per game
    6th best pass defense
8th most sacks in the league

All of those top five and top ten rankings look a little shaky to me too.

If we had to choose I keep Santonio, faster, better route runner, throwing him the quick slant is automatic, had a few drops this year but he has the ability to MAKE THE BIG CATCH!!!!!!!! he brings a certain explosion to this offense that Braylon doesn't have.

Sign Randy Moss to fill in Braylon's spot, he will do great filling in braylon's role as the vertical, deep threat receiver because Randy is possibly the greatest Vertical, deep threat receiver of all time.....

Who is going to run that quick slant that Sanchez relied on so heavily last year?

Santonio is more than capable of running quick slant he ran it to precision last season, I hope that Kerley can also step in and run some underneath routes too...

If it's mutually exclusive: Braylon. As far as the locker room goes, I think he's more important to Sanchez specifically.

Personally, I hope we keep both. As I said before: Cro can walk.

As in, who has a big body like Braylon who can run the quick slant and easily box out defenders. Also, I remember seeing Santonio drop way more passes than Braylon.

Oh, and fun stat Randy Moss led the league last year with 3 dropped passes in the end zone, and has 6 in the past 3 years.

On most teams, I would pick Holmes. However, I think Braylon is a slightly better fit for the Jets due to his outstanding run blocking ability and the fact that he's a huge target for a developing young QB. Also, I believe Edwards and Cotch compliment each other better than Holmes and Cotch. I would like to keep both, but if it came down to one, I'd pick Edwards.

Randy Moss blocks for running plays too?

Truly, what's with this board these days, getting inundated with stupidity of this magnitude? Is lockout getting in THEIR heads too?
