Well we'll see what the cap is. If it's around 140 we're in decent shape. If it's high 120's/low 130's then well...

Realistically this isn't the best news for us w/ so many potential FAs but we have one of the best GMs in the game who I have full confidence in. I think the odds of Braylon coming back over Santonio just went up.

No-one worried about the "doubling of revenues" in the next five years then? Quite a short time to earn twice the cash unless you are selling lots of Gholston jerseys in China.

if this is true, what OLB's or DE's would be available?

Our best option was same rules as 2010 BUT...

Holmes, Smith & Cromartie have 5 seasons and Edwards 6. If the new rules were "UFA in 5 years" we'd have been in a worse situation since we'd still risk losing our big FAs but there wouldn't be many quality palyers available.

I wonder what interesting players might be available under the current scenario... OLBs? CBs? WRs?

Jets would probably go after Manny Lawson. Wont be expensive, is pretty good in coverage, and fast as fuck.

I would kill to see Lance Moore here... I have the feeling we'll be waiving goodbye to Santonio... please get him here!

Edwards - Cotchery - Moore are you kidding me?

Scheme has a lot to do with Moore's production. And Brees too. I don't want to sound like it's a bad signing, but he won't produce the same numbers here.

The unfounded fear of jets fans means football is upon us.

The reports on the CBA (free agency after four years, cap of around 125, high minimum cap of 115) are bad for the Jets, that's what the fuck is up.

I don't see what's so bad about 16 thursday games. I'd love it if the NFL schedule was more spread out instead of sunday top heavy. I hate waiting all week!

    Ok for real now.

You guys honestly think is the only change that will affect free agency? What if the new rules make it easier to cut guys on bad contracts?

Also, just because we just found out about thi doesn't mean tanny hasn't been planning for it for months. He does have the ability to talk to Woody in private.

I believe Tanny could also restructure contracts like Sanchez 2011 value (17m) or Scott (6.6)....Pace is clearly not worth (7.1) or LT (3.5) to pick up extra space to resign the KEY players they want back...He is a genius...

Sunday to Thursday is a short week that could get players tired and hurt. I'm fine with it if the bye weeks are arranged accordingly. Teams should have a bye week before the Thursday game. Idk if that is possible with both teams and for the full 16 weeks.
