This kid is good and will only get better, plus he has shown what the Ghost never did, passion for the game and determination to play football in the NFL. This is a Rex kind of guy and a feel good story to motivate the fan base.

This kid would be worth the look and is already better than one 1st round bust we use to have.

There will be a few teams trying to sign him and I would like the Jets to be one of them. Even if he can't make the final cut, he will generate some good positive press on the Jets.

    Year before cancer (2008)
    Tackles 110,Sole 81,Sacks 2,FF 2, INTs 6

First year back after cancer (2010)
    Tackles 65, Solo 50, Sacks 0, FF 2, INTs 4

This kids can drop back for pass coverage and very versatile. A LB with 10 INTs and he wasn't even 100% the second year.

i'm sure rex is looking at him as an UDFA once he can get people into the jets facilities. looks like he could be a future ace on special teams.

It's hard to get excited about an undrafted FA when there is no sign of life for football this year.

If Herzlich ended up on the Jets, he'd probably be an inside linebacker.

It's complete bullshit that he didn't get drafted, but his great story causes a lot of people (including myself) to overrate him quite a bit.

Before the cancer, he was a top fifteen talent. I don't know if he's the same player anymore, but his presence in a locker room has to be epic.

I remember reading that some medication he has to take (or something along those lines), will make him test positive on every drug test.

Obviously this should be an easy fix for the NFL and him, but you never know

The Patriots took a guy in the 5th who was just found to have a cancerous tumor in his stomach. He still has to go through Chemo and all the rehab. Herzlich has been through all that and was able to play another year of college ball and still wasn't drafted. It just doesn't seem right.

Imagine if the Pats drafted this guy.

All youd hear is how it was the steal of the year, and how once this guy gets healthy hell be a stud superstar.

I think with the Giants disgusting lack of anything at the Lber position and his Boston College roots(the Maras and TC love BC) his signing with the Giants could be a foregone conclusion.

I would like to see the Jets at least mentioned as one of the teams calling him when football starts.

    I'm a sucker for the under-dog stories....

I think he would be a good fit at OLB with his pass coverage skills and OLB is our need.

Not all cancer is the same.
Herzlich sucked this year and didn't deserve to be drafted on his play. Maybe he gets better but he's not particularly good at this point.
